GBase Secures 191 Million Yuan in Funding, Focused on Data Technology R&D
On January 23, GBase (NEEQ: General Data 833056) announced that the company had completed a financing plan of 191 million yuan.
Of the raised funds, 76 million yuan will be invested in the R&D and upgrade of its unified data platform; 65 million yuan will be invested in the R&D and upgrade of its large-scale cluster database.
Unified Data Platform
GBase UP
As an enterprise-grade big data convergence platform, GBase UP addresses data fusion, unification, and expansion needs.
GBase UP adopts a SQL-and-Hadoop horizontal fusion approach, effectively integrating traditional OLTP databases, MPP OLAP databases, and Hadoop systems to enable unified management of hot, warm, and cold data. It handles both structured and unstructured data, supports transactional workloads requiring strong ACID compliance, and meets the demands of both batch processing and real-time analytics.
Large-Scale Cluster Database
GBase 8a MPP Cluster
GBase 8a is a column-store+MPP parallel database cluster featuring high availability, an MPP massively parallel computing framework, per-node columnar storage, a shared-nothing architecture, and high scalability.
Currently, GBase 8a powers the big data platform of Agricultural Bank of China headquarters, the headquarters data warehouse of China Mobile (the largest telecom operator), and core big data platforms across dozens of industries. It holds the largest market share in China's MPP database market, with over 2,300 production nodes, 200+ customers, and 15 PB of data.
Leveraging this capital injection, GBase will accelerate efforts across technology, products, and markets in 2017. The funding will strongly support the company in seizing market opportunities, driving revenue growth, and leading database technology development in China.
