Reaching New Heights: GBASE Shortlisted for the 2021 Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award First Prize

Recently, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau announced the proposed award list for the 2021 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards. GBASE's project 'Research and Application on Key Technologies of High-Standard Dual-Mode Cloud Data Warehouse under Complex Environments' was shortlisted for the first prize of the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award.
 

The Tianjin Science and Technology Award is presented by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government to honor individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in scientific discovery, technological invention, and the promotion of scientific and technological progress. As the first completing unit of the project, GBASE's shortlisting for this first prize demonstrates its excellent capabilities in technological innovation, industry-academia-research collaboration, and industrial promotion.

The project 'Research and Application on Key Technologies of High-Standard Dual-Mode Cloud Data Warehouse under Complex Environments' addresses complex IT environments characterized by multi-source heterogeneous data, multiple data types, massive data volumes, and diverse infrastructures. It develops a next-generation data warehouse featuring high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and supports dual deployment modes both on-cloud and on-premises. The successful development of this project meets the demands of cloud and big data evolution, breaks through the bottlenecks of traditional data warehouses, and achieves the localization of data warehouse technologies. The resulting products can fully satisfy the urgent big data processing needs of key industries such as finance, telecommunications, automotive, and government.

For years, GBASE has steadfastly pursued independent innovation, establishing three major R&D centers in Tianjin, Xi'an, and Nanjing. R&D personnel account for over 60% of the total workforce, and R&D investment represents more than half of the company's total investment. The company holds 154 invention patents, 91 software copyrights, over 10 national and provincial-level product and technology awards, and 6 registered trademarks.

GBASE concluded 2021 on a high note with the honor of being shortlisted for the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress First Prize.
