China's Homegrown Database, GBase, Achieves 46 Compatibility Certifications in a Row in November
As Chinese databases continue to advance in productization and technological maturity, and are refined through real-world industry scenarios, the entire upstream-downstream product system and ecosystem development have become key core competencies. In November, General Data Technology's GBase database series (five products) completed compatibility certification with 46 products from 17 upstream and downstream partners, covering CPUs, operating systems, middleware, servers, office software, and industry applications. Test results showed good compatibility, stable overall operation, normal functionality, and the ability to meet users' product compatibility requirements.
GBase 8a is a distributed parallel database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology, based on a Shared Nothing architecture. It features high performance, high availability, and high scalability, providing a cost-effective general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management. It is widely used to support various data warehouse systems, BI systems, and decision support systems. GBase 8a has been deployed at scale in industries with massive business data, such as finance, telecommunications, and energy, and has shown outstanding performance in the business analytics and business intelligence market.
In this batch of compatibility certifications, GBase 8a completed certification with 8 products from four partners—Hygon, DataSure Software, GOCOM Info, and China Coal (Tianjin) Underground Engineering Intelligent Research Institute—covering CPUs, disaster recovery software, general software, and industry software.
GBase 8s is a mature and stable enterprise-level transactional database independently developed by General Data Technology with independent intellectual property rights. It meets the security database Level 4 standard (B2 equivalent internationally), supports Chinese national cryptographic algorithms, and supports international database standards and interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python. It supports distributed, centralized, shared-storage high-availability deployment, as well as two-site three-center high-availability deployment, delivering high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance. It provides a cost-effective general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management. GBase 8s is suitable for OLTP application scenarios, including mission-critical core business systems in finance and telecom, as well as information systems with high security requirements in security, government and Party sectors, and national defense. It offers 24/7 uninterrupted operation capabilities.
In this batch of certifications, GBase 8s completed compatibility certification with 28 products from ten partners, including Hygon, Huawei Cloud Kunpeng Cloud Service, GienTech, Epoint Software, Yusys Technologies, Tianwei, GaiaWorks, China Coal (Tianjin) Underground Engineering Intelligent Research Institute, the 52nd Research Institute of CETC, and Dadao Cloud, covering CPUs, cloud services, general software, industry software, and storage.
GBase 8c is a distributed transactional database based on a Shared Nothing architecture. It features high performance, high availability, low cost, fine-grained resource scheduling, and intelligent cluster O&M. It provides secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for financial core systems, Internet business systems, and government and enterprise business systems. GBase 8c was also the only product to achieve a perfect score in the 11th batch of Big Data Product Capability Evaluation—Distributed Transactional Database Basic Capability Test conducted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).
GBase 8c V5 completed compatibility certification with seven products from five partners: Hygon, TongTech, BES, Apusic (Kingdee Apusic), and CVIC Middleware, covering CPUs, middleware, and more.
GBase 8d is a directory service management system independently developed by General Data Technology with complete independent intellectual property rights. GBase 8d is used to store descriptive, attribute-based detailed information. It is widely used in PKI/PMI systems, identity management systems for large enterprises and public institutions, and has been applied in e-government initiatives.
In this batch, GBase 8d completed compatibility certification with Hygon for the Hygon No.3 3000, 5000, and 7000 series CPUs. The certification showed good compatibility, ensuring reliable, stable, and high-performance operation.
As a crucial part of foundational software and hardware, Chinese databases need more than just product breakthroughs. It is even more important to continuously strengthen the construction of the upstream and downstream ecosystem. Only in this way can the wave of homegrown IT adoption surge higher. By completing compatibility certification for 46 products in November, General Data Technology has demonstrated its long-standing ecosystem partnership philosophy of 'Openness, Co-construction, Sharing, and Mutual Success.' Moving forward, General Data Technology will actively collaborate with ecosystem partners to contribute the strength of China's independently developed foundational software and hardware to the nation's digitalization and informatization initiatives.
