GBase Database February Compatibility Summary

Published on 2022-03-14

As IT application innovation evolves, China’s domestically developed foundational hardware, software, and critical application systems have moved from “unavailable” to “usable” and are now progressing toward being “reliable and efficient.” The localization process in key sectors is steadily accelerating, and the results of building a compatible domestic software ecosystem are becoming increasingly evident. In February 2022, four database products from GBase and 15 products from eight upstream and downstream hardware and software vendors completed compatibility certification, covering CPUs, operating systems, servers, middleware, industry applications, and general software. The certification results fully meet compatibility requirements, with normal functionality and efficient, stable operation, comprehensively validating the robust and reliable compatibility of GBase databases.

GBase 8a is a distributed parallel database cluster independently developed by GBase, based on a Shared Nothing architecture. It features high performance, high availability, and high scalability, providing a cost-effective general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management. It is widely used to support data warehouse systems, BI systems, and decision support systems, and deployed at scale in industries with massive business data such as finance, telecommunications, and energy, delivering outstanding performance in the business analytics and business intelligence market.

In February, GBase 8a achieved compatibility with six products from companies including TongTech, UnionTech, Hygon, and Zhaoxin.

GBase 8s is a shared-storage database cluster independently developed by GBase with full proprietary intellectual property. It meets the Level 4 security database standard (equivalent to B2), supports national cryptographic algorithms, and international database specifications and development interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI(OCI/OCCI), and Python. It supports distributed deployment, centralized deployment, shared-storage high-availability deployment, and geo-redundant deployments (two-site three-center), delivering high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance. It provides a cost-effective general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management, suited for OLTP scenarios, including mission-critical business systems in finance and telecommunications, as well as information systems with high security requirements in government, Party, and defense sectors.

In February, GBase 8s completed compatibility with seven products from companies including ZTE, Haideli, Yindangu, TongTech, and Zhaoxin.
