The inaugural Tianjin University-GBASE joint industry-academia training program concludes successfully.

Recently, the inaugural Tianjin University - General Data Technology (GBASE) university-enterprise joint training program has successfully concluded. Nineteen students from Tianjin University’s Software Engineering major completed the two-month study and project practice and successfully graduated from the program.

At the end of April this year, General Data Technology (GBASE) and Tianjin University held the unveiling ceremony for the training base and the program opening ceremony. Professor Zhang Jiawan, head of the training program at the School of Software, Professor Zhang Yikui from the School of Software Engineering, along with Zhang Juan, HR Director of GBASE, Guan Lianpo, General Manager of the 8a Product Division, and Xu Hong, Talent Development Manager, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Professor Zhang gave an overall introduction to the starting point, cooperation model, and content of the university-enterprise collaboration, and looked ahead to the future directions and goals of the partnership. HR Director Zhang Juan welcomed the teachers and students on behalf of GBASE and introduced the company’s current overall situation and achievements. General Manager of the 8a Product Division, Guan Lianpo, provided an in-depth explanation of the company’s products. Zhang Juan stated that GBASE will continue to offer students a practical platform for strengthening theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in both training and employment, and will work with Tianjin University to explore better models of university-enterprise cooperation.

Over the past two months, the 19 students were assigned to the R&D, testing, and product departments of three product lines for practical training. Enterprise mentors arranged professional basic course training for them and assigned project tasks according to their individual situations. While handling heavy research and development challenges, the mentors patiently answered students’ questions every day and closely monitored their training progress and work status.

To enhance the students’ experience of the corporate culture and reflect employee care, the Human Resources Department organized a symposium for the trainees on June 1st, and mentors from each product line held separate exchange and training sessions. This allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s profile and job content. At the end of the training period, each enterprise mentor provided individual feedback on the students’ completion reports.

The successful completion of the first training cooperation with Tianjin University marks the beginning of a new journey in which GBASE joins hands with leading universities to cultivate the next generation of IT talents. The road ahead is long and full of promise. GBASE will continue to strengthen the foundation of talent cultivation together with universities, working hand in hand to deliver more skilled, high-quality, and high-potential technical professionals for the development of the country’s database industry.
