Core Banking System Database Solution
Solution Overview
With continuous technological innovation, the banking industry has begun to explore the autonomous and innovative development of IT systems, undertaking the migration of core business systems from proprietary minicomputers to open platforms and transforming foundational platforms, including servers, chips, operating systems, databases, middleware, core business applications, etc. This solution is based on the system transformation of core banking systems in the financial industry.
Pain Points and Challenges Addressed
(1) Compatibility of software and hardware foundational platforms. Platform products include chips, operating systems, databases, middleware, etc. During project implementation, attention must be paid to early adaptation and selection, choosing an appropriate technology route, and validating in production environments to promptly discover, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
(2) Database compatibility. This includes migration of tables and view structures, syntax compatibility, business logic migration, migration of stored procedures, functions, and scripts, and adaptation of common database interfaces.
(3) Plan and steps for transitioning from dual-track parallel operation to single-track cut-over. To ensure a safe and smooth system switch, it is necessary to complete pre-cutover related work, select the switching method and time window, compile switching manuals, write switching scripts, and conduct multiple rounds of switching drills.
(4) Risk handling mechanism. Abnormalities may occur during and after the system switch. Emergency plans must be activated to resolve them, with the entire system rolling back to the original system and data access reverting to the original database. This requires data synchronization between the original database and the new database.
(5) Performance tuning of the new system. After the new system goes live, performance comparison and tuning between the old and new systems must be performed. Following optimization principles from solidification (planning stage) to static (design stage) to dynamic (development and operations stage), performance optimization should be carried out step by step.
Typical Case: Core Banking System Construction Project of a City Commercial Bank
This case adopts Kunpeng 920 chip + NeoKylin V7.0 operating system + GBase 8s V8 database + Seerich fwbs middleware, employing a compute-storage separation architecture and leveraging Huawei OceanStor high-end all-flash storage to provide high-performance data read/write and highly reliable data disaster recovery protection. Based on business requirements, the business system structure and processes were sorted out and functionally transformed, achieving improvement in business processing efficiency at the business level. The average response time for business transactions improved by 20% compared to before the transformation; batch processing time improved by 38%; and backup time improved by 6 times.

The Financial IT Innovation Ecosystem Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory") is an important infrastructure and specialized experimental platform dedicated to financial IT innovation, established to implement the national innovation-driven development strategy. Since the launch of solution solicitation, the Laboratory has collected over a thousand solutions, building a case library that provides referenceable, replicable, and scalable guidelines and demonstrations for financial institutions.
