Data Intelligence Empowers, Ecosystem Co-Innovation Shapes the Future | GBase Attends the China Mobile Big Data Industry Chain Partner Forum

On June 27, 2023, the "Data Intelligence Empowers, Chain Innovation Creates the Future" Big Data Industry Development Forum, hosted by China Mobile Wutong Big Data, was held in Beijing. The event aimed to seamlessly connect the industry chain, value chain, and innovation chain, and create a new collaborative paradigm featuring co-creation, sharing, co-governance, and mutual benefits. GBase, a long-term partner of China Mobile, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.

Data is a fundamental strategic resource for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a vital carrier of national digital sovereignty, the bedrock of digital and intelligent socio-economic development, and a breakthrough point for building competitive advantages in cutting-edge global technologies. China Mobile actively serves as the chain leader for the modern mobile information industry chain, driving the industry to achieve collective breakthroughs and excellent development in major core technologies and the entire industry chain. Big data, as a key technology direction of the modern mobile information industry chain, has become one of the first ten sub-chains established.

As the secretariat unit of the big data sub-chain, the China Mobile Information Technology Center presented the overall situation of the big data industry chain at the forum. It led the coordination with partners, inaugurated the Big Data Sub-Chain Expert Committee, established a Big Data Industry Alliance, and formed joint task forces to thrive the big data ecosystem.

During the event, GBase, representing Chinese database vendors, delivered a speech. Zhang Shaoyong, Chief Engineer of the GBase 8a Product Business Department, shared a presentation titled "GBase GCDW: Cloud-Native Real-Time Logical Data Warehouse," detailing the features, advantages, and application scenarios of the cloud-native data warehouse product jointly launched by GBase and China Mobile.

Moreover, China Mobile also released ten major industry demands for the big data ecosystem at the forum and formed targeted task forces with partners for breakthroughs. As a key partner of China Mobile in data storage and management, GBase has undertaken two major demand directions:"Full-Stack Hardware-Software Integration for Big Data Systems" and "High-Performance Analytical Database". Moving forward, the focus will be on improving the full-stack adaptation rate and product performance of domestic big data products, promoting full-stack adaptation across the big data industry chain, and building cloud-native distributed analytical database products to address issues such as low maturity of domestic products, incomplete ecosystems, and limited large-scale application scenarios.

As the earliest independent database product and service provider to achieve large-scale deployment in the financial and telecommunications sectors, GBase has collaborated closely with China Mobile for over a decade. The GBase series of database products has been widely adopted across 29 provincial branches and the group headquarters of China Mobile. Notably, GBase 8a MPP Cluster alone has been deployed across thousands of nodes, making significant contributions to the development of foundational software for China's mobile communications industry chain.
