GBASE Powers Another Urban Rail Milestone: Lanzhou Metro Line 2 Launches Trial Operation

“Welcome aboard Lanzhou Rail Transit Line 2…” At 9:36 a.m. on June 29, accompanied by a pleasant announcement, the first phase of Lanzhou Rail Transit Line 2 began trial operation and opened to the public.

The first phase of Lanzhou Rail Transit Line 2 is 9.06 km long with 9 stations. The trial operation of Line 2 marks Lanzhou's official entry into the era of dual metro lines, enabling seamless metro transfers between Lanzhou Railway Station, primarily serving conventional passenger trains, and Lanzhou West Railway Station, a hub for high-speed trains. From now on, passengers arriving at Lanzhou Railway Station who need to catch flights no longer have to rush around; they can simply transfer by metro and high-speed train to reach Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport. Together with Line 1, Line 2 forms the initial cross-shaped backbone network of the city center's rail transit, significantly relieving north-south traffic pressure, effectively improving overall capacity and service quality, and providing citizens with a convenient and efficient travel channel.
