[GBASE Training] Western Strategy – GBase Database Training Camp West China Special Session
In September this year, the China Chief Economist Summit was successfully held in Chengdu, once again elevating the building of a western financial center to a strategic level. The advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative has also accelerated the development of financial software and hardware infrastructure in the western region. As the localized IT application innovation progresses steadily, the quality of database products—one of the three core foundational software categories—continues to improve. GBase 8a MPP Cluster (hereafter referred to as 8a cluster), one of the most successful database products in the OLAP field, has been deployed at scale in many financial institutions across western China, including Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang. It provides a robust data analysis foundation for customers and supports the steady growth of the financial industry in the western region.
To better promote a localized IT ecosystem in western China, GBase will hold the “GBase Database Training Camp West China Special Session” in October 2021. This free, tailor-made 8a cluster certification training is specifically designed for industry customers in the western region, and includes 90 free cloud servers as the hands-on lab environment. Participants who pass the exam will receive a free electronic certificate with Chinese database certification qualification, and top performers have the opportunity to obtain a free printed certificate. We warmly welcome customers and partner technical staff from the western region to sign up!
Product Introduction
The 8a cluster is GBase's independently developed, industry-leading large-scale distributed parallel processing database cluster, and has been widely adopted in finance, telecommunications, government, defense, and various enterprise sectors. It has become a powerful backbone for data warehousing and decision support systems. Nearly 90% of GBase product users report superior performance and comprehensive functionality. This strong market feedback has driven increasing demand for in-depth learning.
Course Introduction
This course starts from scratch with the 8a cluster product, covering the principles and basic usage of the 8a cluster database. The entire program is divided into two phases: learning and examination. It includes 12 days of learning, two unit quizzes, and two certification exam attempts. The training and exams are organized entirely through an online learning platform, enabling a step-by-step, scientifically structured approach to easily master the fundamentals of Chinese database technology.
Learning Objectives:
1. Help participants understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of the 8a cluster, and establish a basic understanding of MPP database architecture.
2. Enable participants to master the installation, management, and maintenance of the 8a cluster database, and resolve common cluster state issues.
3. Enable participants to perform data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including CRUD operations, user privilege management and assignment, and querying system tables.

Testimonials from Previous Participants
A Technical Expert from a Bank's IT Department: To overcome performance bottlenecks of centralized database architectures in data analysis systems, Bank of Chongqing evaluated multiple products on high availability, stability, cluster features, and cluster performance, and ultimately selected GBase 8a MPP Cluster to build its next-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained a deeper understanding of the basic architecture, core technologies, applicable scenarios, and SQL usage of GBase 8a MPP Cluster, along with hands-on practice, which built a solid technical foundation for my future work.
Big Data Project Manager, HAND Enterprise Solutions: This ten-plus day training requires just 1-2 hours per day. It covers everything from GBase history and features to deployment, daily use, and monitoring—very comprehensive. You can only take the final certification after passing the unit tests, and those who perform well and actively participate may even get exam and certificate fees waived. I have to say the arrangement is spot-on—carrot and stick, haha. I love this model because it motivates interest, encourages broad participation, and avoids the embarrassment of the course becoming a mere formality. I highly recommend friends who haven't joined yet to sign up for the next session.
IT Department Manager, Bank of China Macau Branch: This remote training was very convenient. Not only was it free, but it also provided cloud servers for hands-on practice. The most important thing is that the knowledge points were explained meticulously in the videos, and the instructors were very patient and responsive in answering questions in the group. We came with specific questions to seek solutions, which made the learning more targeted. For example, the lesson on the client side helped us correct some previously inaccurate usage.
Auditor, Bank of Jiangxi Head Office: The training model is innovative, focusing on participant experience and emphasizing interaction and communication, rather than the traditional one-way lecture format. After the training, course notes were compiled and shared with the participants. Post-lesson exercises and stage tests played an important role in reinforcing the learning outcomes and validating effectiveness. The detailed explanations and Q&A provided a great starting point for participants with diverse backgrounds to quickly grasp the knowledge, deepen understanding, and get close to the product for future use.
Data Architect, Jiangsu Servyou: This training was organized as an online boot camp, which was extremely convenient. It was free and provided a cloud environment for hands-on practice. The most impressive part was the instructors' meticulous explanations—truly in-depth. They also answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. Thanks to the instructors and to fellow learners who shared their questions and insights along the way.
Database Developer, GienTech: Overall, it was a fruitful, enjoyable, and technically enriching training experience that I will never forget! Once again, heartfelt thanks to the instructors—they are the beacon that opened the door to my journey with Chinese databases.
