[GBASE Training] Join the GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database March Training Camp
In the mild March spring, General Data Technology is hosting the second GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database Certification Training course of the Year of the Tiger. As always, this certification training is completely free. Classes begin on March 21. Enthusiasts of Chinese database technology are welcome to enroll!
Product Introduction
The GBase 8a cluster is a large-scale distributed parallel processing database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology and one of the leading solutions in China. It has been deployed at scale in finance, telecommunications, government, defense, and enterprise sectors. GBase 8a cluster has become a robust foundation for data warehouses and decision support systems, with nearly 90% of GBase product users reporting superior performance and comprehensive functionality. This positive market feedback is driving increasing demand for deeper learning.
Course Introduction
Starting from scratch, this course covers the principles and basic usage of the GBase 8a cluster database. The program is divided into two phases: learning and examination. It features 12 days of learning, two unit quizzes, and two certification exam attempts. The entire course is delivered through an online learning platform, with a structured, step-by-step approach that helps you easily master GBase database fundamentals.
Learning Objectives:
- Help learners understand the working principles, features, and deployment strategies of the GBase 8a cluster, and establish a basic understanding of MPP database architecture.
- Enable learners to install, manage, and maintain the GBase 8a cluster database, and troubleshoot common cluster state issues.
- Enable learners to perform data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including adding, deleting, modifying, and querying data; managing and assigning user permissions; and viewing system tables.
Training Schedule
- March 15–20: Registration

What Past Attendees Say
A banking technology department manager: This remote training was very convenient. Not only was it free, but cloud servers were also provided for hands-on practice. The video content explained the key points in detail, and the instructor answered questions in the group chat promptly and patiently. We were able to learn with specific problems in mind, which made it more targeted—for instance, the lesson on the client helped us correct some previously incorrect usage.
An auditor at Jiangxi Bank Headquarters: This training adopted an innovative model, focusing on the learner experience. Unlike traditional lecture-only formats, it emphasized interaction and communication. Course notes were compiled and shared after the training. In-class exercises and periodic assessments played a critical role in reinforcing learning and verifying outcomes. The instructor's detailed Q&A helped participants from diverse backgrounds quickly grasp, deepen, and engage with the product, providing an excellent foundation for future use.
A big data project manager at Hande Information: This course offered over ten days of content, demanding just 1–2 hours per day. From GBase’s history and features to deployment, installation, routine use, and monitoring, it was comprehensive. After each unit quiz, we qualified for the final certification. High scores and participation earned discounts on exam and certificate fees. I must say the arrangement was well-designed, combining carrot and stick, haha. I enjoyed this model—it motivated interest and broad participation while preventing the program from becoming a mere formality. I highly recommend others who haven’t joined to sign up for the next session.
A technology expert at the Bank of Chongqing: To resolve the performance bottlenecks of centralized architecture databases in data analysis systems, the Bank of Chongqing evaluated multiple products for high availability, stability, cluster functionality, and performance. It ultimately chose GBase 8a MPP Cluster to build a new-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained deeper understanding and hands-on experience with GBase 8a's foundational architecture, core technologies, applicable scenarios, and SQL usage, building technical reserves for future work.
An IT product manager at China Mobile Jiangsu: The instructor’s teaching was like a rich feast, elegantly presented in the classroom. Truly, “a single conversation with a wise man is better than ten years of study.” The instructor generously shared his experience, making complex topics accessible—it was brilliant.
An architect at an archive technology company in Hubei: The free GBase training offered me a fresh perspective on General Data Technology’s products. The training covered a lot of material; I spent a few days of intensive study. The video content was very useful, and I applied most of it during my tests. The database’s SQL compatibility is excellent—apart from a few specific syntaxes, it aligns with common database products. I was able to migrate a previous project to GBase with ease. I especially want to note that the training is free, whereas similar courses from other vendors can cost thousands. I think this shows integrity; it’s clear that GBase is building a true ecosystem, not just chasing profit. I believe a company with such principles will produce great products.
