Product Introduction

GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database (referred to as 8a Cluster) is an independently developed, leading large-scale distributed parallel processing database cluster from General Data Technology (GBase). It has been widely deployed in finance, telecommunications, government, defense, and enterprise sectors. 8a Cluster has become a powerful backbone for data warehousing and decision support systems. Nearly 90% of users report that it delivers superior performance and comprehensive functionality. Its positive market feedback has driven growing demand for in-depth learning.

Course Introduction

This course starts from scratch with the 8a Cluster product, covering the principles and basic usage of the 8a Cluster database. The course consists of two phases: learning and examination, with 14 days of study, two module quizzes, and two certification exam attempts. It is organized as an online learning bootcamp. Through a well-structured schedule, you will progressively and easily master the fundamentals of Chinese databases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Help learners understand the working principles, features, and deployment strategies of the 8a Cluster, and build foundational concepts of the MPP architecture for databases.

  • Enable learners to master the installation, management, and maintenance of the 8a Cluster database, and troubleshoot common cluster state issues.

  • Enable learners to perform data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including CRUD operations, managing user permissions, and querying system tables.

Training Schedule

What Past Participants Say

IT Department Manager, a bank: This training was remote and very convenient. Not only was it free, but cloud servers were provided for hands-on practice. Most importantly, the video explanations were detailed, and the instructor answered questions patiently and promptly in the group. We learned with specific questions in mind, which made the training more targeted. For example, the lesson on the client helped us correct some inaccurate practices we had used before.

Auditor, Head Office of Bank of Jiangxi: The training model was innovative, emphasizing learners’ experiences. Unlike one-way teaching, it stressed interaction and communication. After the training, organized lecture notes were shared with participants. Post-course exercises and periodic tests played an important role in consolidating knowledge and verifying learning outcomes. The instructor’s timely clarification and detailed explanations provided a great start for learners with diverse backgrounds to quickly grasp, deepen understanding, and get hands-on with the product.

Technical Expert, IT Department, Bank of Chongqing: To solve the performance bottlenecks of centralized database architectures in data analysis systems, Bank of Chongqing conducted comparative tests on multiple products in terms of high availability, stability, cluster functionality, and cluster performance. We ultimately chose GBase 8a MPP Cluster from General Data Technology (GBase) to build a new-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained deeper understanding and hands-on practice of GBase 8a MPP Cluster’s infrastructure, core technologies, application scenarios, and SQL usage, which provided technical reserves for future work.

Big Data Project Manager, Hande Information: This training lasted more than ten days, with just 1-2 hours per day. The content covered everything from GBase history and features to deployment, installation, daily usage, and monitoring—very comprehensive. You had to pass module tests to take the final certification. High scores and active participation could even earn you exam and certificate fee waivers. I must say, this arrangement was well-designed—both carrots and sticks! I liked this model; it sparked interest, encouraged broad participation, and prevented the course from becoming a mere formality. I highly recommend that those who haven’t joined yet sign up for upcoming sessions.

IT Product Manager, Jiangsu Mobile: The instructor’s teaching was like a rich feast, exquisitely presented in the training sessions. Truly, “A word with a wise person is worth ten years’ reading.” The instructor unreservedly shared practical experience in simple terms, making it an impressive and enlightening experience.

Architect, a Hubei-based archive technology company: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a whole new perspective on General Data Technology’s products. The training covered a lot of content; I spent a few days intensively studying it. The video content was very useful, and I applied most of it in testing. The database’s SQL compatibility was also good—apart from a few specific syntaxes, it largely supports common database products. I migrated a previous project to GBase and found it quite simple. What deserves special mention is that the training is free. In contrast, similar training from other vendors can cost thousands. I think this is truly considerate, showing that General Data Technology is building its own ecosystem rather than just chasing money. I believe products from such a conscientious company will be excellent.
