In response to numerous requests from GBase fans, the GBase Training Center will hold the “March 2026 GBase 8c Certification Training” on March 8th. All industry professionals are welcome to register!

Product Introduction

GBase 8c is a multi-model, multi-mode distributed transactional database that supports row-store, column-store, in-memory, and other storage models, as well as standalone, primary-standby, and distributed deployment forms. GBase 8c delivers high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and strong security. It supports strongly consistent distributed transactions and mainstream Read Committed (RC) and Repeatable Read (RR) transaction isolation levels. It can be deployed on physical servers, virtual machines, containers, private clouds, and public clouds, providing secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for core systems in finance and other critical industries, internet business systems, and government and enterprise systems.

Course Introduction

This course starts from the very basics of GBase 8c, explaining its principles and fundamental usage. The entire course is divided into two stages: learning and examination, with 12 days of study and 2 certification exam attempts. Learning format: self-paced online video courses, dedicated instructor Q&A in the WeChat group, and an online certification exam. Through a well-structured arrangement, learners can progressively and easily master the fundamentals of China-developed databases.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of GBase 8c, helping you build a foundational understanding of distributed database architecture.

  • Master the installation, management, and maintenance of GBase 8c distributed cluster edition, and be able to troubleshoot common cluster state anomalies.

  • Master the use of the GBase 8c client and basic SQL operations, including inserting, deleting, modifying, and querying database table data; managing and granting user permissions; and querying system tables.

  • Understand table sharding in GBase 8c distributed mode, how to use various storage engines and indexes, the application scenarios of four types of distributed plans, how to view distributed plans under various combinations, and SQL tuning capabilities.

Testimonials

China Mobile Jiangsu IT Product Manager: The instructor’s teaching was like a sumptuous feast, beautifully laid out in the training class. Truly, “A single conversation with a wise man is better than ten years of study.” The instructor unreservedly shared his experience, explaining profound concepts in simple terms—it was a truly brilliant session.

China Mobile Online Maintenance Supervisor: Like most DBAs, I started with Oracle and later switched to MySQL. This was my first time learning a PostgreSQL-series database like GBase 8c. After two weeks of intensive engagement, I believe GBase 8c is now on par with, and in some respects even surpasses, similar products. General Data Technology has also done an excellent job in promoting product knowledge, which has greatly strengthened my confidence in China-developed databases. I would like to thank all the instructors and fellow learners from General Data Technology in the group. It was truly gratifying to enhance our technical skills in such a warm and collaborative atmosphere!

Neusoft Group Data Architect: The GBase 8c training course was immensely rewarding, covering the fundamentals, features, and usage of GBase 8c, and laying a solid foundation for future in-depth application of distributed databases. This course is highly recommended, and I sincerely thank General Data Technology for providing this training.

Beijing Hi-Tide Start Senior DBA: Before I knew it, I had passed the GBase 8s, 8a, and 8c exams and been recognized as an outstanding student each time. This round of 8c training showed me how impressive the GBase database products are—deployment solutions are flexible and powerful enough to meet diverse needs. The pre-installation preparation for the 8c cluster even reminded me of the meticulous work required for Oracle clusters (both demand careful attention to succeed). To learn 8c well, you need to watch the videos repeatedly, study the courseware, and do plenty of exercises. Finally, I want to say: Thank you to all the instructors at General Data Technology. Only our utmost dedication can truly honor your hard work!

Software Engineer, Beijing Yusys Technologies Co., Ltd.: Thank you to General Data Technology for providing this free learning platform. Over 14 days, I was introduced to China-developed distributed databases for the first time. The course started with environment setup and basic theory, combined with practical tutorials, making it very approachable for beginners. Whenever I encountered issues during setup, the instructors patiently helped resolve them. The localization and adoption of Chinese databases is an unstoppable trend. I believe this learning experience will be beneficial for my future work. I highly recommend everyone come and learn, and I hope China-developed databases continue to get better and better!
