openGauss Developer Day 2022 was officially held on July 14-15 at the Beijing Kuntai Carnival Culture Center, combining an in-person event with a livestream. As a strategic partner of Huawei and a key participant in the Kunpeng ecosystem, GBASE was invited to attend this grand gathering.

The event opened with remarks from Chen Yueguo, Secretary-General of the CCF Database Committee, and Jiang Dayong, Chairman of the openGauss Community Council, who analyzed the prospects for the flourishing development of China's database market—a landscape where a hundred schools of thought contend, stars shine brightly, and each has its own strengths. Based on openGauss, one of China's most influential and innovative open-source communities, heavyweight guests gathered to celebrate and actively explore the innovative development of database technology and its technical challenges. Coinciding with the second anniversary of openGauss's open-source release, GBase 8c made its official debut at the commercial distribution launch ceremony during the conference.

The multi-model, multi-state distributed database GBase 8c V5 is the industry's first distributed database product built on openGauss version 3.0.

Leveraging the robust performance of openGauss, the GBase 8c database supports multiple storage modes—including row-store, column-store, and in-memory—and various deployment forms such as standalone, primary-backup, and distributed. It features high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and strong security, while being highly compatible with the IT application innovation ecosystem. It can be flexibly deployed across diverse environments, including physical machines, virtual machines, containers, public clouds, and private clouds, delivering secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for a wide range of application scenarios. The GBase 8c product family includes the database core, a general management platform, a data migration platform, a security management platform, and a management control platform, providing users with end-to-end product capabilities from installation and deployment through data migration to daily operations.
