Recently, the 25th China International Software Expo was successfully held in Tianjin, organizing nearly 10 sub-forums and parallel events around hot topics in the software industry. The 25th China International Software Expo released the “2022-2023 Outstanding Innovative Software Product Promotion Catalog,” covering four fields: basic software, industrial software, platform/support software, and application software, with an emphasis on product autonomy, trustworthiness, technological innovation, and development capabilities and prospects. GBase 8a MPP Cluster, a distributed logical data warehouse, stood out from numerous entries and was selected for the 2022-2023 Outstanding Innovative Software Product Promotion Catalog – Basic Software category.
Exploring New Opportunities in IT Application Innovation
During the expo, the “IT Application Innovation Sub-forum” was held concurrently, focusing on the integrated development of the IT application innovation industry, exploring future directions for IT application innovation, and sharing advanced experiences and achievements.
At the roundtable themed “Opportunities and Prospects for the IT Application Innovation Industry,” Zhao Wei, Senior Vice President of GBase, joined Li Keqiu, Dean of the College of Intelligence and Computing at Tianjin University, Yang Bo, President of the Tianjin Software Industry Association, Wang Ruibin, Vice President of Phytium Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhang Jie, IT Application Innovation Business Director at Troila Technology Development Co., Ltd., to actively discuss industry opportunities and future prospects, sharing advanced concepts, valuable experiences, and cutting-edge technologies.
Envisioning Big Data, Big Computing Power, Big Models, and Big Applications
Big data, big computing power, and big models are becoming critical resources for today’s technological innovation and business competition. At the “Data Gathering in Tianjin, Intelligence Creating the Future” sub-forum, participants shared their insights on the cutting-edge trends and development of big data, big computing power, big models, and big applications.
During the roundtable, Cui Zhiwei, General Manager of the GBase 8s Product Department, noted that combining powerful hardware with big models and big data can yield surprisingly remarkable results—this is the value created by the collision of big data, big computing power, big models, and big applications. However, more comprehensive considerations are needed during project deployment, such as the impact of green electricity on costs, whether InfiniBand network bandwidth is sufficient, whether foundational data is complete, and how to filter out illegal data or information. Given these practical factors, deploying big model projects in specific industries should involve small investments, short cycles, and quick results. After successful pilots in targeted sectors, industry-wide integration can then proceed step by step.
Connecting Supply and Demand to Gather Software Talent
During the expo, a “handshake channel” was established to hold a parallel event for matching software talent supply and demand, enabling nearly 5,000 college graduates to engage face-to-face with enterprises.
Zhang Juan, HR Director at GBase, shared insights with graduates on site, introducing the company’s profile and mission, and outlining its core business and vision through a review of the GBase database product family, development history, and past achievements.
Zhang Juan remarked: “We are now reconstructing a methodology to understand and transform the world, and the development of China’s IT industry and the value of future data have been fully validated. As a vital component of basic software, databases have a highly complex architecture, bridging hardware and applications while serving as the core repository of information assets. Therefore, by choosing to pursue a career in the database basic software industry, graduates have enormous potential.”
Zhang Juan also noted that GBase’s campus recruitment has officially begun.
