At the just-concluded main forum of the 25th China International Software Expo · China Database Industry Summit, Ding Mingfeng, Chairman of GBase, shared a keynote titled "On China's Database Development: Strategies in a Deglobalizing World," comprehensively analyzing the role of modern technological advancement in driving the macroeconomy, detailing the development trends of database technology in the AIGC era, and jointly launching the GBase Cloud Vector DB—a vector database built for large model applications and developed in China—together with guest representatives. Iterative technological advancement is the core driver of economic growth and industrial upgrading. Looking across modern history, the rapid development of information and communication technology has enabled humanity to leap from the PC internet era to mobile internet and into the AIGC era. In the new era, the marginal effect of technological progress has gradually diminished, and global economic growth has slowed. Focusing on China's internal economic circulation has become mainstream, giving rise to IT Application Innovation (Xinchuang). A brief review of the evolution and development of China's IT Application Innovation industry yields two key insights:

China's IT Application Innovation requires the database industry—as the infrastructure for managing data elements—to achieve self-reliance and controllability.

The two major opportunities of cloud computing and digital industrialization have propelled data element management to become a cornerstone of social development.

Specifically in the database field, a single one-size-fits-all database is no longer sufficient to solve every problem; each application scenario needs a dedicated database product. Against this backdrop, GBase's development strategy is to focus on core database technology and deliver scenario-based database solutions. For data warehousing, high-consistency transaction scenarios, high-elasticity scenarios, and DBaaS scenarios, GBase has built a full-stack product portfolio to provide targeted, technology-leading, mature, and stable database products, leveraging the strengths of different database types to help users solve diverse business challenges.
