It remains a completely free certification training, starting on October 10. All database enthusiasts are welcome to register!

Product Introduction

GBase 8a MPP Cluster database (referred to as 8a cluster) is an independently developed, industry-leading large-scale distributed parallel processing database cluster from GBase. It has been widely deployed in finance, telecommunications, government, national defense, and enterprise sectors. The 8a cluster has become a powerful backbone for data warehousing and decision support systems, with nearly 90% of users reporting superior performance and comprehensive functionality. Its strong market feedback has driven increasing demand for in-depth learning.

Course Introduction

This course starts from zero to explain the principles and basic usage of the 8a cluster database. The entire course is divided into two phases: learning and examination, spanning 14 days of study, two unit quizzes, and two certification exam attempts. The training and exams are organized in an online training camp format, enabling participants to progressively and easily master the fundamentals of Chinese-made databases through a scientifically sound schedule.

Learning Objectives:

  • Help participants understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of the 8a cluster, and establish a basic concept of MPP database architecture.
  • Enable participants to master the installation, management, and maintenance of the 8a cluster database, and to resolve certain cluster state anomalies.
  • Enable participants to perform data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including CRUD operations on data, user privilege management and assignment, and viewing system tables.

Training Schedule

  • September 26 – October 9: Registration
  • October 10 – 23: One lesson unlocked per day
  • October 27 – 30: Certification exam (2 attempts)

Testimonials from Past Participants

IT Manager from a Bank: The remote training was very convenient. Not only was it free, but cloud servers were also provided for hands-on practice. Most importantly, the videos explained the key points in great detail, and the instructor patiently and promptly answered questions in the group. We came with specific questions and left with focused insights—for example, the lesson on the client helped correct some of our previous inaccurate usage.

Auditor at Jiangxi Bank Headquarters: This training featured a novel format that emphasized the participant experience. Unlike traditional one-way lectures, it prioritized interaction and communication. After each session, organized course notes were shared with participants. Additionally, post-lesson exercises and staged tests played a crucial role in reinforcing learning outcomes and verifying progress. The instructor's Q&A and detailed explanations provided a great starting point for participants from various backgrounds to quickly grasp, deepen their understanding of, and subsequently engage with the product.

Technical Expert from Bank of Chongqing IT Dept.: To address the performance bottlenecks of centralized databases in data analytics applications, Bank of Chongqing evaluated multiple products on high availability, stability, cluster functionality, and performance, ultimately selecting GBase 8a MPP Cluster to build our next-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained a deeper understanding of the GBase 8a MPP Cluster's architecture, core technologies, applicable scenarios, and SQL usage, and obtained valuable hands-on practice, building a solid technical reserve for future work.

Big Data Project Manager at Hand Information: The training spanned about ten days, requiring only 1-2 hours per day. It comprehensively covered everything from GBase's history and features to deployment, day-to-day usage, and monitoring. Participants could only take the final certification after passing unit quizzes, and high achievers or active participants even enjoyed waived exam and certificate fees. I have to say, the arrangements were spot-on—a perfect mix of carrots and sticks. I love this format: it motivates interest, encourages broad participation, and avoids the awkwardness of a course that merely goes through the motions. I highly recommend those who haven't joined yet to sign up for the next session.

IT Product Manager at China Mobile Jiangsu: The instructor's teaching was like a sumptuous feast, exquisitely presented in the classroom. Truly, "one conversation with a wise person surpasses ten years of reading." The instructor generously shared personal experience without reservation, explaining complex topics in a simple way—it was absolutely brilliant.

Architect at an Archive Technology Company in Hubei: The free GBase training gave me a completely new understanding of GBase's products. The course covered a lot of content; I spent a few days intensively studying, and the material in the videos was very practical. I used most of it during testing, and the database's SQL compatibility was excellent—apart from some specific syntax, it is largely compatible with common database products. I also tried migrating previous projects to the GBase database, which felt very straightforward. One thing worth highlighting is that the training was free. Comparable training from other vendors can cost thousands of dollars. I think this shows genuine commitment; it's clear GBase is building a direct ecosystem rather than just chasing short-term profits. I believe a company with such integrity will surely produce great products.
