The 2023 GBase Database Essay Contest is officially here!

To better serve every user and encourage our community to share more GBase tutorials and innovative practices, we held the "First GBase Essay Contest" last year, which received a great response. Now, the contest is back! Same great format—GBase, in partnership with the Modb.pro community, proudly launches the "2023 GBase Database Essay Contest"! This time we have prepared gifts worth tens of thousands of yuan—from drones and wearables to home decorations, we've got it all arranged for you.

1. Event Timeline:

1. Article Submission: April 25, 2023 – May 31, 2023

2. Preliminary Selection: April 26, 2023 – June 5, 2023

3. Expert Evaluation: June 6, 2023 – June 9, 2023

4. Announcement of Winners: June 15, 2023

2. Who Can Participate

This contest is open to the public—DBAs, developers, students, and all database enthusiasts are welcome to join.

3. Essay Topics

Technical category:

1) Understanding and applying GBase databases in real-world projects or adaptation processes, including deployment and installation, data migration, configuration optimization, system analysis, problems encountered and solutions, etc.;

2) Constructive suggestions for product features based on specific application scenarios;

3) Best practices, typical solutions, application cases, and feasibility analyses of replacing existing systems with GBase databases in the context of digitalization trends across various industries.

General category:

1) Constructive suggestions for building the industry ecosystem based on application scenarios;

2) Industry insights and integration approaches for GBase databases, drawing on applications or hot topics within the industry;

3) Share your personal story with GBase—including but not limited to thoughts and experiences while working with GBase, interesting anecdotes, or people and events that come to mind thanks to GBase. We welcome fresh themes, unique perspectives, and a light, engaging writing style.

4. Submission Requirements (Key Points—Follow the Rules to Have a Chance to Win!)

1. Write an original article about GBase databases based on the provided topics, with a minimum of 600 words (excluding code).

2. Articles must be first published on Modb.pro. The title should include the GBase product name and be tagged with "#GBase Essay Contest 2023 Stage 1# + #Category Name# (choose one: Technical, General)".

3. Submissions for this first stage of the contest must be published within the designated period: April 25 – May 31.

PS: Staff will review all articles. Reposts, rehashed content, or articles closely resembling publicly available GBase technical materials will be disqualified.

5. Prizes

Within the two main categories (Technical and General), winners will be selected based on vote count: one 1st Prize, two 2nd Prizes, three 3rd Prizes per category, with an unlimited number of Finalist Awards. This means there will be a total of two 1st Prizes, four 2nd Prizes, and six 3rd Prizes.

Finalist Awards can be won in addition to the main prizes. All prizes will be shipped within 7 working days after the winners are announced.

6. How to Submit

Step 1: Go to the Modb.pro homepage and find the "Write Article" entry.

Step 3: Click Publish and add the tag: "#GBase Essay Contest 2023 Stage 1# + #Category Name# (choose one: Technical or General)"

Step 4: Submit your entry information.

Scan the QR code to follow the GBase Database official account, type "Submission" in the chat, and click the relevant link to submit.

7. Event Schedule and Judging Rules

1. Article Submission: April 25, 2023 – May 31, 2023

During this period, publish original articles that meet the requirements on the Modb.pro community (https://www.modb.pro).

2. Preliminary Selection: April 26, 2023 – June 5, 2023

Every 50 essays collected will be reviewed, and results will be posted. Reply "Preliminary" on the "GBase Database" official account to check the results. Each author can have a maximum of 3 articles shortlisted.

Articles that pass the preliminary review receive a Finalist Award

3. Expert Evaluation: June 6, 2023 – June 9, 2023

An expert panel will evaluate articles based on quality (including novelty of the topic, structural completeness, logical clarity, formatting, practical relevance, readability, etc.) as well as metrics such as article views and likes. The top 6 in each category will be reposted on the official account for promotion and voting.

4. Announcement of Winners: June 15, 2023

Results will be announced via the Modb.pro community and the GBase Database official account, and the Outstanding Article Awards will be presented.
