Training Announcement | October 2024 GBase 8s Certification Training – Register Now!
The GBASE Training Center will host theOctober 2024 “GBase 8s Database Certification Training” (the 9th session of 2024) starting on October 11. This 3-week program is designed to help you quickly master GBase 8s, a transactional database developed in China. All homegrown database enthusiasts are welcome to register!
Product Introduction
GBase 8s is a mature and stable shared-storage database cluster independently developed by GBase. Multiple database instances share a single set of disk data, and all nodes support read and write operations. The product complies with Level 4 secure database standards (comparable to the international B2 level), supports China’s cryptographic algorithms, and adheres to international database standards and development interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python. It features independently owned intellectual property rights. It supports distributed, centralized, shared-storage high-availability deployment, as well as active-active and three-site disaster recovery architectures. With high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance, it provides a cost-effective general-purpose platform for ultra-large-scale data management.
GBase 8s is ideal for OLTP workloads, including mission-critical core systems in finance and telecommunications, as well as information systems in government, defense, and other sectors with stringent security requirements. It delivers 24x7 uninterrupted processing capabilities.
Course Introduction
Starting from scratch, this course covers GBase 8s fundamentals, installation and deployment, daily management and O&M, and basic SQL development. By the end of the course, learners will be able to rapidly deploy GBase 8s transactional database in Linux environments and master essential O&M tasks, including installation, management, data import and export, and backup.
Training Schedule
The program consists of a learning phase and an examination phase: 13 days of study (including one mock exam) and two certification exam attempts. All training and testing are conducted through an online learning platform, supported by daily reminders in the group chat, downloadable HTML training materials, and Q&A sessions with experienced instructors. With a well-structured, step-by-step approach, learners will easily master the fundamentals of China-developed databases.

What Past Participants Say
Project Manager, Shandong Mobile Systems: The GBase 8s training was a feast of knowledge. The curriculum was rich, well-organized, and compact; the learning atmosphere in the training camp was engaging and lively; and the video lectures and blog materials were straightforward and practical. New course videos were unlocked daily, with appropriate length, and convenient directory links were shared in the WeChat group. I could learn using my spare time. The instructors explained everything from basic principles to hands-on operations clearly and thoroughly. In the group, GBase instructors and fellow trainees were enthusiastic and responsive, answering every question promptly. The accompanying hands-on GBase 8s exercise documents closely matched real-world scenarios—working through them from start to finish is definitely the best entry path.
IT Product Manager, Jiangsu Mobile: The instructor’s lectures were like a sumptuous feast, exquisitely presented in the training sessions. Truly, “a single conversation with a wise person is worth more than ten years of reading.” The instructor selflessly shared their own experiences, making complex concepts easy to understand—it was simply brilliant.
Development Engineer at a Bank Software Center: The course lasted 13 days. As a beginner, I learned GBase 8s database principles, installation and deployment, daily management and O&M, and basic SQL development through the online modules. This enabled me to master essential GBase 8s operations such as installation, management, data import/export, and backup. The instructor also gave live demonstrations, explaining everything in great detail. I found the course very practical and valuable. Additionally, the instructor provided HTML-format training materials, so we could study alongside the lectures and review them anytime after class. The whole course was highly rewarding—I look forward to learning more about GBase.
Data Architect, Jiangsu Servyou: The training was organized as an online bootcamp, which was very convenient. Not only was it free, but it also provided a cloud environment for hands-on practice. The most impressive part was how meticulous the instructors were in explaining each concept—they really dug deep into the details. They answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. Many thanks to the instructors and to all my learning peers for sharing their questions and insights along the way.
Faculty Member, Information College of a Vocational School: Coming from academia, I had primarily worked with foreign databases and always felt something was missing. Through this training, I discovered that Chinese databases are by no means inferior—they actually align better with how we, as Chinese users, work. They deserve to be promoted. We could introduce a course on domestic databases at schools to cultivate and influence a generation of students, gradually advancing the adoption of homegrown databases for broader development.
Architect at a Hubei Archival Technology Company: The free GBase training gave me a completely new perspective on GBase’s products. There was a lot to learn during the course, and I spent several days diving into it. The video content was very useful—I tested most of what was taught, and the database’s SQL compatibility was excellent. Aside from some specific syntax, it is highly compatible with popular databases. I even tried migrating an existing project to GBase, and it was surprisingly easy. A special mention goes to the fact that the training was free—comparable courses from other vendors often cost thousands. I think this shows real integrity. It’s clear that GBase is building an ecosystem rather than just chasing profit. I believe a company this conscientious will also produce great products.
