Kick Off the New Year | The First GBase 8s Certification Training of 2025, Year of the Snake, Is Here!

Published on 2025-02-07

The GBASE Training Center will host the "February 2025 GBase 8s Database Certification Training Program" on February 8. This session is designed to help participants quickly master the secure database management system, GBase 8s. Calling all enthusiasts of homegrown databases to sign up!

Product Introduction

GBase 8s is a database product with completely independent intellectual property rights from GBASE (General Data Technology Co., Ltd.). It is a B2-level (EAL4) secure database that supports China's national cryptography algorithms. It supports mainstream development interfaces such as SQL99/2003, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python. SQL syntax is highly compatible with Oracle, MySQL, DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other common databases, maximizing the reuse of developers' existing database experience. It features a complete homegrown ecosystem, deeply adapted to Chinese operating systems, middleware, and CPU chips. It supports shared-storage clusters and high-availability deployments across two sites with three data centers.

GBase 8s is ideal for OLTP workloads, including mission-critical core business systems in the financial and telecom industries, as well as information systems in government, national defense, and other sectors with stringent security requirements. It provides 24/7 non-stop processing capabilities.

Course Introduction

This course starts from scratch, covering GBase 8s database principles, installation and deployment, management and operations, and basic SQL syntax. Learning objectives: Being able to quickly deploy a standalone GBase 8s instance on a Linux operating system, mastering essential operations such as database administration, data import/export, backup and recovery, and understanding stored procedure coding.

Training Plan

The program is divided into two phases: learning and certification exam. It includes 13 days of study (with mock exams) and two certification exam attempts. Through daily reminders in the group chat, downloadable training materials, and technical Q&A with expert instructors, participants will progressively and easily acquire basic GBase 8s operational skills.

What Previous Participants Say

Project Manager, Shandong Mobile: The GBase 8s training was a feast of knowledge. The curriculum was rich, well-structured, and compact; the learning atmosphere in the training camp was friendly and lively; the video and blog resources were accessible and practical. New video lessons were unlocked daily, with just the right duration, and handy navigation links were provided in the WeChat group. I could make full use of fragmented time to learn. From fundamental principles to hands-on practice, the instructors explained everything clearly and thoroughly. Moreover, GBASE instructors and fellow participants in the training camp group actively and promptly answered every question raised. The supporting hands-on practice documents for GBase 8s were closely aligned with real-world scenarios. Working through them from start to finish was an excellent way to get started.

IT Product Manager, Jiangsu Mobile: The instructors' lectures were like a sumptuous feast, beautifully presented in the training class. Truly, "A conversation with a wise teacher is worth ten years of reading." The instructors unreservedly shared their experience, explaining profound concepts in simple terms—it was truly brilliant.

Software Development Engineer, A Bank's Software Center: This course lasted 13 days. As beginners, we learned the principles, installation and deployment, management and operations, and basic SQL development of GBase 8s through online sessions. The training enabled us to master essential GBase 8s operations such as installation, administration, data import/export, and backup. The instructor also demonstrated these processes with detailed explanations. I found the course very practical and valuable. Additionally, the instructor provided the courseware in HTML format, allowing us to study alongside the materials and review them at any time after class. The entire experience was highly rewarding, and I hope to continue learning more about GBase products.

Data Architect, Jiangsu Shuiyou: This training was organized as an online camp, which was very convenient. Not only was it free, but it also provided a cloud environment for hands-on practice. What impressed me most was the instructors' incredibly detailed explanations of each topic—they really got to the core of the subject. The instructors answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. I'm grateful to the instructors and to my fellow learners who shared questions and insights during the learning process.

Teacher, School of Information Technology, A Vocational College: Coming from an academic background, I had mostly worked with foreign databases and always felt something was missing. Through this training, I discovered that homegrown databases are no less capable—they actually align better with the usage habits of Chinese users and are well worth promoting. We could offer a course on domestic databases at schools to educate and influence a group of students, gradually driving wider adoption and broader development of our own database technologies.

Architect, A Hubei Archives Technology Company: The free GBase training gave me a whole new perspective on GBASE products. There was a lot of content, and I spent a few days focusing on it. The video materials were very useful—most of what I tested aligned well with actual practice. The SQL syntax compatibility is also good; aside from some specific dialects, it is compatible with most common database products. I tried migrating an existing project to GBase and found it quite straightforward. One thing worth highlighting is that the training is free. Comparable training from other vendors can cost several thousand yuan, so this shows a real commitment. GBASE is clearly focused on building an ecosystem rather than just chasing profit. I believe a company with such integrity produces great products.
