Product Introduction

GBase 8a MPP Cluster (referred to as "8a cluster") is a large-scale, distributed parallel processing database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology, a leading provider in China. It is also known as a distributed logical data warehouse. It meets the growing demands of data-intensive industries for data analysis, data mining, data backup, and ad-hoc querying. GBase 8a MPP Cluster has been deployed by over 200 major enterprise users in China and abroad. In China, it supports core data warehouses for the Agricultural Bank of China, the big data platform of Bank of China, the enterprise-wide business analysis data warehouse of State Grid Corporation of China, the centralized business analysis data warehouse of China Mobile Group, and big data platforms for over 20 provincial branches of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, among other critical business systems. Overseas, GBase 8a MPP Cluster has been exported to more than 30 countries—including the United States, Russia, Germany, Mexico, and Pakistan. Currently, over 45,000 nodes are deployed, managing more than 400 PB of data.

Course Introduction

This series of courses starts from scratch for the 8a cluster product, explaining the basic principles, operation and maintenance, and SQL syntax of the 8a cluster database. The entire course is divided into two stages: learning and examination. 10 days of learning, two mock exam attempts, and two certification exam attempts. Online self-study, online tutoring, and online exam combine theory with hands-on practice, allowing you to master Chinese database fundamentals step by step.

Learning Objectives:

  • Help trainees understand the working principles, features, and deployment strategies of the 8a cluster, and establish basic concepts of MPP database architectures.

  • Enable trainees to install, manage, and maintain the 8a cluster database and troubleshoot common cluster status issues.

  • Enable trainees to operate data within a single virtual cluster database, including adding, deleting, modifying, and querying table data, managing and assigning user permissions, and querying system tables.

Architect, an archiving technology company in Hubei: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a whole new understanding of General Data Technology's products. The course covered a lot of content, and I spent a few days intensively studying it. The video content was very useful — I tried out most of it during my own testing, and the database's SQL syntax compatibility is excellent; apart from some specific syntax, it is largely compatible with common database products. I also attempted to migrate a previous project to GBase, and it felt very straightforward. A special point worth mentioning is that the training was free.
