Product Introduction
GBase 8a MPP Cluster (hereinafter referred to as "8a Cluster") is a large-scale, distributed, parallel-processing database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology, a leading provider in China. It is also known as a distributed logical data warehouse. It meets the growing needs of various data-intensive industries for data analysis, data mining, data backup, and ad-hoc queries. The 8a Cluster already supports over 200 large enterprise customers both in China and internationally. Domestically, it powers critical business systems such as the core data warehouse of Agricultural Bank of China, the big data platform of Bank of China, the enterprise-wide central analytics data warehouse of State Grid Corporation of China, the centralized business analysis data warehouse of China Mobile Group, as well as the big data platforms in more than 20 provincial branches of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. Internationally, the 8a Cluster has been exported to over 30 countries, including the United States, Russia, Germany, Mexico, and Pakistan. To date, the total number of deployed nodes exceeds 45,000, managing over 400PB of data.
Course Introduction
This series of courses starts from scratch, covering the basic principles, operation and maintenance, and SQL syntax of the 8a Cluster database. The entire course is divided into a learning phase and an examination phase, with 10 days of study, two mock exam attempts, and two certification exam attempts. It combines self-paced online learning, online tutoring, and online exams, integrating theory with hands-on practice to help you progressively master the fundamentals of domestic databases.
Learning Objectives:
Help participants understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of the 8a Cluster, establishing a foundational concept of MPP database architecture.
Enable participants to master the installation, management, and maintenance of the 8a Cluster database, and to resolve common cluster status issues.
Enable participants to perform data operations within a single virtual cluster database, including adding, deleting, modifying, and querying table data, managing and assigning user permissions, and querying system tables.

What Past Participants Say
IT Product Manager, China Mobile Jiangsu: The instructor's lectures were like a sumptuous feast, beautifully presented in the training room. It truly felt like "hearing your words is better than ten years of reading." The instructor unreservedly shared their experience with us, explaining complex topics in simple terms—a truly brilliant experience.
Technology Department Manager, a Macau Bank: This remote training was very convenient. Not only was it free, but cloud servers were also provided for hands-on practice. The most valuable aspect was the detailed explanation of knowledge points in the videos, and the teacher answered questions in the group patiently and promptly. We came with specific problems to solve and obtain targeted explanations, which was very effective. For example, the session on clients helped us correct some previously inaccurate usage.
Auditor, Bank of Jiangxi Head Office: The training model was innovative, focusing on the learners' experience. It moved away from a single-mode lecture style, emphasizing interaction and communication. After the training, course notes were organized and shared with participants. There were also post-lesson exercises and periodic tests, which played a crucial role in consolidating knowledge and verifying learning outcomes. The instructor's Q&A sessions and detailed explanations provided an excellent starting point for participants from diverse backgrounds to quickly grasp, deepen their understanding, get hands-on exposure, and subsequently use the product.
Technical Expert, Technology Department, Bank of Chongqing: To address the performance bottlenecks of centralized database architectures in data analysis systems, Bank of Chongqing conducted comparative tests on multiple products, evaluating high availability, stability, cluster functionality, and cluster performance, and ultimately chose GBase 8a MPP Cluster from General Data Technology to build a new-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained a deeper understanding and practical experience with GBase 8a MPP Cluster's infrastructure, core technologies, applicable scenarios, and SQL usage, providing a technical foundation for future work.
Big Data Project Manager, Hand Enterprise Solutions: This training lasted over ten days, requiring just 1-2 hours per day. It comprehensively covered everything from GBase's history and features to deployment, routine use, and monitoring. You had to pass unit quizzes before you could sit for the final certification, and high scores and participation earned you discounts on exam and certificate fees. I have to say the arrangement was spot-on—using both "carrots" and "sticks," haha. I really like this model; it motivates interest, encourages broad participation, and prevents the course from becoming a mere formality. I highly recommend it to those who haven't joined yet—sign up for the next session!
Architect, a Hubei Provincial Archives Technology Company: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a completely new perspective on General Data Technology's products. The course content was extensive; I spent several days focusing on it, and the video content was very useful. I was able to apply most of it in my tests, and the database's SQL compatibility is excellent. Apart from a few specific syntaxes, it is largely compatible with common database products. Through experimentation, I migrated a previous project to the GBase database, and it was quite straightforward. One thing I must mention is that the training is free. In contrast, similar training from other vendors can cost several thousand yuan, which I think speaks to their integrity. It shows that General Data Technology is building a genuine ecosystem rather than just looking at the bottom line. I believe products from such a principled company are bound to be excellent.
