In the report, Gartner highlights three key strengths of GBase:

1. Strong success in China and emerging global presence. GBase has achieved robust performance in China’s large-enterprise market, deploying petabyte-scale data warehouses across the financial and telecommunications sectors. It is also gaining initial traction in telecom industries in South America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and North America.

2. High customer loyalty: GBase scored highly in Gartner’s customer persistence survey. More than 90% of reference customers indicated they plan to purchase additional licenses within the next 12 months, and an even higher percentage said they would recommend GBase to others.

3. LDW vision: Through GBase UP, the vendor aims to deliver product support for Logical Data Warehouse (LDW) scenarios.

The Rise of Chinese Vendors

This year, 22 vendors were included in the Magic Quadrant. All three vendors selected from the Asia-Pacific region are from China—GBase, Alibaba Cloud, and Huawei—marking the first time three Chinese vendors have been recognized. Apart from Micro Focus and SAP (Europe), the remaining 17 are U.S.-based companies.

This recognition brings Chinese databases firmly into the global spotlight, demonstrating that domestic database products represented by GBase have reached international standards in maturity, stability, service support, and R&D forward-looking vision. They now hold a leading position in the Asia-Pacific region.

Gartner summarized the performance of Chinese vendors as “The Rise of Chinese Vendors”: “The DMSA market in China is massive, and some Chinese suppliers have achieved significant success. They are now considering expanding into international markets.”

GBase’s Visionary Roadmap Stands Out

Among the three Chinese vendors included, GBase is the only independent software vendor, solely focused on database products and big data platform R&D and innovation. GBase leads in forward-looking vision among Chinese vendors, thanks to its self-developed GBase 8a MPP analytical database and the GBase UP unified big data platform that supports the logical data warehouse.

GBase 8a is a mature analytical database for the big data era, designed to meet the growing needs for data query, statistics, analysis, mining, and backup in data-intensive industries. It serves as the underlying database for data warehouse systems, BI systems, and decision support systems. As a proven database, GBase 8a MPP Cluster has been deployed for over 200 users, managing 100+ PB of online data and 3,000+ nodes. It successfully powers core business systems for customers across various industries, including China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the General Administration of Customs, the People’s Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, State Grid Corporation of China, and China Mobile, and has earned their trust.

The GBase UP unified big data platform provides an easy-to-configure, low-barrier, all-data, hyper-converged, open one-stop big data solution—the optimal platform for enterprise big data implementation.

GBase UP unifies diverse data organization, management, and processing technologies—including transactional databases, MPP databases, Hadoop, and Spark—into a single platform, delivering unified services to form a cohesive data platform.

With GBase UP, the challenges enterprises face in the big data era are effectively resolved. First, GBase UP integrates structured and unstructured data management and analytics technologies, providing a foundational platform that breaks down information silos and enables holistic data analysis, empowering decision-makers with a complete view of the business. Second, its unified interfaces, management, and security dramatically lower the barriers to complex and big data development, allowing enterprises to focus on their business rather than investing large numbers of IT staff. Third, GBase UP’s open architecture combines unity with extensibility, enabling enterprises to easily develop and deploy extensions for specialized data processing functions. Finally, backed by the GBase technical team for big data IT implementation, enterprises can concentrate on data-driven decision-making and business growth, seizing more opportunities.
