General Data Technology showcased its products at the 6th Symposium on the Design and Planning Development of Rail Transit AFC Systems
Autumn ambience in the air, fruitful achievements abound.
The 6th Symposium on the Design and Planning Development of Rail Transit AFC Systems was held in Suzhou on October 30, 2020. Hosted by the Automatic Fare Collection System Committee of the China Information Industry Association, co-hosted by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and organized by Beijing Fangka Information Consulting Center, the event brought together 136 representatives from 11 design institutes, 7 operators, and 25 vendors nationwide. As a leading Chinese database provider, General Data Technology Co., Ltd. showcased its GBase series database products and rail transit industry solutions at the event.
Centered around the themes of 'AFC System Design in the Era of Smart Urban Rail' and 'AFC System Design under Integrated Transportation Networks', experts from ten design institutes delivered speeches. The presentations, featuring clear themes, rich cases, and unique insights, resonated with the attendees and provoked thoughtful discussions.
Each year, the symposium invites representative enterprises to share technology insights from different disciplines. As one of the invited companies, Zhao Jie, General Manager of the Government and Enterprise Sales Department at General Data Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled 'GBASE Empowers Urban Rail Transit Informatization'. He presented GBase’s database product portfolio, and, with a focus on the unique characteristics of the rail transit industry, proposed domestically developed data solutions that provide strong support for rail transit AFC applications while ensuring data security and controllability.
Currently, five automatic fare collection (AFC) systems using GBase databases are in operation, and seven more lines are in the preparation phase. GBase has also been adopted in other specialized systems such as the Integrated Supervisory Control System and the Line Network Center. The application of GBase databases has broken the long-standing monopoly of foreign databases in the rail transit industry. With deepening commercialization and growing trust from operators and system integrators, this has laid the foundation for GBase’s market promotion and large-scale deployment.
