Defending Information Security: GBase (General Data Technology) Invited to the Times Information Security Partner Conference

Published on 2022-07-11

On July 7, the 2022 Times Information Security Eco-Partner Conference, themed “Moving Forward with Time, Starting the Future Together,” was livestreamed, and GBase (General Data Technology) was invited to participate as an ecosystem partner. Wei Wei, Technical Director of GBase’s Ecosystem Development Department, delivered an excellent presentation.

The two-hour event featured continuous interaction, raffles, and engaging content. It brought together Xia Zhisheng, General Manager of the Market Channel Department at Times Information Security, Sha Yong, General Manager of the Product Solution Center, Liu Huanping, Channel Director, and Wei Wei, Ecosystem Technical Director of GBase, all joining the live broadcast to discuss new opportunities in IT application innovation and jointly envision the future.

Wei Wei’s presentation theme was “General Data Technology Partners with Times Information Security to Build an Information Security Solution Based on GBase Database.” In the big data era, data breach incidents occur frequently, making data security a major obstacle to the digital economy. The key challenges in data protection are as follows:

Diverse data generation channels:

Users’ smartphones, PCs, business systems, and other electronic files store critical information such as market intelligence, financial budgets, and customer data, encapsulating a company’s core value and intellectual property.

Human intervention impacts efficiency:

Strictly controlling how employees handle electronic files through human intervention may reduce the risk of leaks to some extent, but it introduces significant inconvenience to business operations, severely hampers office productivity, and even affects employee morale.

Securing sensitive data in the big data era is paramount. To address the many challenges of data security, GBase and Times Information Security have joined forces, actively cooperating to propose a trade secret protection solution:

Classification and labeling management for trade secret documents

Supports classification and labeling of trade secrets, enabling hierarchical, categorized management and permission control of electronic trade secret documents.

Encryption protection for trade secret documents

Applies driver-level transparent encryption and decryption together with domestic cryptographic algorithms, ensuring that trade secret documents can only be used by authorized users within approved application environments.

Outbound control for trade secret documents

Supports outbound sharing control, allowing limits on usage count, validity period, and operation permissions. External parties can access shared files without installing any client software.

Situational awareness of trade secret documents

Records the classification status, flow trajectory, and operational behavior of labeled trade secret files, providing classification ledgers, distribution ledgers, operation statistics, and violation alerts.

Permission control for trade secret documents

Controls more than a dozen fine-grained operation permissions—including read, edit, and copy—to limit file usage scope and ensure content security.

Watermark tracing for trade secret documents

Supports watermark management for encrypted documents, enabling on-screen watermarks, print watermarks, and outbound watermarks. An invisible watermark can also be embedded using information tracing technology, which is imperceptible to the human eye and does not affect normal reading or use.

Information security is an indispensable component of IT system development in all critical sectors. GBase relies on independent innovation, with its core database technologies and underlying source code being fully autonomous and controllable. Times Information Security focuses on data security and identity management, specializing in proprietary, core-technology-based information security products. Both parties will give full play to their respective strengths, forming a powerful alliance to deliver trusted joint solutions that safeguard state secrets and trade secrets, and help users benefit from superior IT application innovation products as soon as possible.
