GBase Attends the 39th CCF China National Database Conference

The 39th CCF China National Database Conference (NDBC 2022) was successfully held in Weihai, Shandong, from August 19 to 21. The CCF China National Database Conference began in 1977 and is the highest-level academic conference in China's database field. It is an annual event for exchanging advanced achievements in database research and applications, and exploring key challenges and research directions in the database field. As a leading Chinese database vendor, GBase has always focused on cutting-edge academic theories in databases, maintains long-term cooperation with the CCF Database Technical Committee, and deeply participated in the committee discussions during this conference.

This year's conference was organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF), hosted by the CCF Database Technical Committee and Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), and co-organized by Yantai University and other institutions. It brought together dozens of top domestic and international database experts and hundreds of industry elites. Focusing on new challenges, problems, and directions in the database field, experts gathered online and offline to share the latest insights from industry thought leaders. The conference featured six technical forums, continued the 'System Demonstrations' theme from previous years, and held a 'Graduate Paper Tutoring' workshop. It focused on industry trends, elevated academic theory, and empowered industrial development.

In response to the call to boost employment for college graduates, and to bridge the communication gap between graduates and outstanding enterprises, the conference set up a special "Enterprise Night" session. GBase, as an enterprise representative, engaged with attending graduates to discuss the opportunities and challenges of the Chinese database industry, as well as collaborative training mechanisms for database talent between universities and enterprises. Driven by favorable policies and industrial growth, the Chinese database sector is heating up and is in urgent need of fresh talent. GBase has simultaneously opened dozens of recruitment positions in testing, R&D, and technical support, available through postdoctoral workstations, experienced hire channels, and campus recruitment. GBase experts provided a detailed introduction to the company culture and talent development strategies to interested attendees.

Database is hailed as the jewel in the crown of foundational software, and its kernel developers are the ones who 'carve the kernel into a vessel'—the key to building a robust database. High technical barriers mean that database talent requires deep technical expertise, which demands both theoretical guidance from academia represented by the CCF China National Database Conference, and practitioners who are willing to put in hard work in practice. GBase has always been committed to industry-academia-research collaboration, providing more 'professional and pragmatic' compound reserve talent for the database industry through principle-based knowledge transfer and database system engineering practice.
