GBase Participates in the 2022 World Transport Convention, Sharing Research on Generalized Data Warehouse Architecture Design for Civil Aviation

The World Transport Convention is an international academic conference and exhibition platform for the transport sector, approved by the State Council of China, jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, organized by the China Highway and Transportation Society, and supported by transport science and technology organizations at home and abroad. Since its inception in 2017, it has been successfully held three times, with the participation of experts and government officials from over 40 countries. It plays a significant role in building consensus within the international transport community, promoting international exchange and cooperation, advancing Belt and Road transport infrastructure connectivity, enhancing the development capabilities of China's transport sector, and driving and leading global transport development.

Due to the severe COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control situation, the 2022 World Transport Convention was held online. Parallel forums are an essential part of the convention. The paper "Research on Generalized Data Warehouse Architecture Design for Civil Aviation" submitted by GBase was accepted by the Aviation Traffic Information Engineering Forum. Yang Weiwei, Technical Director of the Chief Engineer Office and author of the paper, was invited to deliver a presentation on the same topic.

The presentation shared the demand for data warehouse development in the civil aviation industry. In areas such as omnichannel experience, customized content, intelligent data, real-time convenience, and mobility, customers have raised higher requirements for the service capabilities of civil aviation operations. Traditional data warehouses face significant challenges in real-time performance and data integration management. To meet these new demands, the generalized data warehouse has improved its technical architecture, achieving breakthroughs in key technologies such as multi-source data access, accelerated data processing, data virtualization, and unified cross-engine data querying. The presentation also shared practices and applications of the generalized data warehouse, and looked ahead to further applied research in the civil aviation sector. Civil aviation business areas—such as customer analysis, ticket pricing, route and network planning, revenue management, cargo management, airport commercial services, and safety management—can all further enhance management and decision-making through generalized data warehouse technology.
