On the afternoon of February 21, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held its third group study session on strengthening basic research. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the session and emphasized that advancing basic research is an urgent requirement for achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and the only path to building China into a world science and technology leader.

The General Secretary stressed that the country must wage a tough battle to indigenize scientific instruments and equipment, operating systems, and foundational software, encouraging research institutions, universities, and enterprises to collaborate on joint research, and ramp up the level and scale of domestic substitution applications, so that China can use its own research platforms and instruments to solve major basic research problems as soon as possible.

An unwavering focus on database technology has been the guiding principle of GBase for two decades.
