GBase Shines at the 18th Symposium on AFC System Technology Application in Urban Rail Transit
On March 15-16, the "18th Symposium on AFC System Technology Application in Urban Rail Transit and AFC Professional Products Exhibition," hosted by the Automatic Fare Collection System Professional Committee (AFC Professional Committee) of the China Information Industry Trade Association, was successfully held in Hangzhou. GBase, as a member of the AFC Professional Committee in the database field, was invited to exhibit and deliver a speech at the symposium.
In recent years, the influx of new technologies such as the internet, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence has driven the booming development of AFC systems in rail transit. Among various software systems, databases play an increasingly vital role in the digital transformation of rail transit. Driven by the demand for domestic alternatives, how does GBase's self-developed database integrate AFC systems with core database technologies to improve operational efficiency and provide passengers with convenient and efficient travel services?
At the conference, Wang Dingzhuo, Technical Director of GBASE's Energy and Transportation Market Department, delivered a keynote on "How Domestic Databases Empower the Construction of Shenzhen Metro's AFC System" and addressed related questions. Facing the technical challenges of the Shenzhen Metro ACC and CLC Phase II project, the GBASE technical team proposed a deployment architecture using SSC+AHC clusters across the production cloud center and station nodes, leveraging the strengths of the GBase 8s shared-storage cluster. With solid technical expertise and implementation experience, the Shenzhen Metro project was successfully launched. The GBase database supports the efficient operation of business systems including AFC, ACC, CLC, and online ticketing, providing efficient, convenient, and stable metro services for the public.
GBase's full-stack database products were also showcased at the exhibition, attracting many visitors and sparking lively discussions.
Since entering the rail transit industry in 2016, GBase databases have been successfully deployed in over 20 cities such as Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Jinan, Changsha, Hefei, Lanzhou, Hohhot, Kunming, Nanning, Dalian, and Suzhou, covering more than 50 metro lines. They support core systems including Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), Clearing Center (ACC), Multi-line Center (CLC), Internet Ticketing System, Integrated Supervisory Control System (ISCS), and Operational Command Center (OCC). These achievements fully demonstrate the trust that rail transit owners and system integrators place in GBase database products. GBASE will continue to live up to expectations, shoulder the responsibility of advancing domestic database technology, consolidate the digital foundation of smart transportation, safeguard convenient and safe travel for passengers, and contribute to the building of a nation with a strong transportation network.
About GBase 8s
GBase 8s is a shared-storage database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology. It meets the Security Database Level 4 standard (equivalent to international B2 level) and supports distributed, centralized, shared-storage high-availability deployments, as well as "two sites and three centers" high-availability architectures. Featuring high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance, it has completed compatibility certification with the vast majority of Chinese upstream and downstream software and hardware vendors. It has been deployed at scale in core business systems across critical sectors such as transportation, finance, telecommunications, and energy.
