[GBASE Training] GBase 8c Multi-Model Multi-Form Distributed Database Certification Training Officially Launched – Register Now for the First Session

The GBASE Training Center will hold the third session of “GBase 8c Multi-Model Multi-Form Distributed Database Certification Training” of 2023 on March 20. GBase 8c is the first multi-model multi-form distributed database built on openGauss 3.0.0. This training is based on the latest version of GBase 8c. After nearly half a year of course refinement, we are officially offering free certification training to the public for the first time. Database enthusiasts are welcome to sign up!
 

Product Introduction

To address the insufficient support of traditional centralized databases for high-concurrency and high-throughput demands, and to meet the stringent requirements for database performance, stability, and security in financial core systems, General Data Technology, leveraging over a decade of distributed development experience, released GBase 8c, a multi-model multi-form distributed database designed for OLTP applications, in 2022.

GBase 8c is a multi-model multi-form distributed database built on openGauss 3.0.0. It supports multiple storage modes—including row-based, column-based, and in-memory—and multiple deployment forms such as standalone, primary-backup, and distributed. GBase 8c delivers high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and high security. It supports strongly consistent distributed transactions and mainstream RC and RR transaction isolation levels. It can be deployed on physical machines, virtual machines, containers, private clouds, and public clouds, providing secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for core business systems in critical industries, Internet business systems, and government and enterprise business systems.

Course Introduction

This course starts from the fundamentals of GBase 8c and covers the principles and basic usage of the GBase 8c database. The entire course is divided into two stages: learning and examination. It includes two weeks of learning, one mock exam, and two attempts at the certification exam. The training and examination are organized in an online learning bootcamp format, allowing participants to progressively and effortlessly master the fundamentals of China-developed databases through a well-structured arrangement.

Learning Goals

  • Help learners understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of GBase 8c, establishing foundational concepts in distributed database architecture.

  • Enable learners to install, manage, and maintain both standalone and distributed cluster deployments of GBase 8c, and to troubleshoot certain cluster state anomalies.

  • Equip learners with skills in using GBase 8c database clients and performing basic SQL operations, including CRUD operations on database data, managing and assigning user permissions, and querying system tables.

  • Learn and understand features under the distributed form of GBase 8c, such as table sharding, storage engines, various index usage, and how to view distributed execution plans and perform SQL tuning with different combinations.

Training Schedule

  • March 13 – March 19: Registration

  • March 20 – April 1: One lesson unlocked daily for self-paced learning

  • April 6 – April 9: Certification exam (2 attempts)

Training Outline

Target Audience

  • Database administrators, operations personnel, and developers.

  • Current students or graduates willing to pursue careers related to China-developed databases.

  • Participants should have a basic understanding of Linux and databases. Prior experience with openGauss or PostgreSQL databases will make the learning process easier.

Training Process

Registration: To participate in the training, you must first register. Once registration is successful, you can begin learning (available on mobile phones, tablets, or computers).

Email Notification: On the start date of the course and the first day of review, registered participants will receive email notifications regarding the course start and exams. Please check your mailbox (ensure your email address is correct).

WeChat Study Group: After successful registration, the instructor's company WeChat contact will pop up. It is recommended to add the instructor as a friend and leave a message including “8c, your registered name, and phone number”. Upon verification, you will be invited to join the learning exchange group (participation is voluntary for registered participants, group rules must be followed; no unsolicited entries allowed).

Course Format: Online recorded video courses. One lesson is unlocked at 7:00 AM each day during the learning phase. Study time can be arranged flexibly.

Exercises: Post-lesson exercises and periodic quizzes to promptly check learning progress.

Certification Exam: An online exam. Participants who meet the learning requirements will receive an exam voucher. Those who pass the exam will receive a free GBase Certified Administrator certificate (electronic version).
