GBase: A Key Database Partner in the OpenPOWER Industry Chain. Since the establishment of the OpenPOWER Foundation, it has been actively building a local industry chain in China. This chain encompasses CPU chips, servers, operating systems, databases, middleware, cloud computing, big data, and more. GBase is a key partner in the database segment and the only member that focuses exclusively on databases.

Proven Best Practices: GBase and OpenPOWER. At the OpenPOWER Technology Forum, GBase Vice President Du Guowang presented proven best practices combining GBase with OpenPOWER.

Since 2015, GBase has completed deep adaptation of its three core products—GBase 8a, GBase 8t, and GBase 8m—with POWER Linux. It has also developed the Blue DATA 8t appliance and the Blue DATA 8a MPP appliance, while a Blue DATA 8m MPP appliance is currently under development. Going forward, GBase will adapt GBase 8t to POWER Linux, launching more competitive new products.

GBase also actively collaborates with other partners in the industry chain. In the practice of building self-reliant and secure technologies, it partnered with RedPower to launch the RedDATA database appliance and worked with Chuanghe Communication to introduce the Chuanghe 8t appliance.

GBase has driven performance optimization on POWER. Leveraging POWER8, GBase has performed extensive tuning: direct invocation of POWER instruction sets, application of high-frequency instruction locking to various buffers, establishing a high-speed channel between the CPU and memory controller, reducing data I/O addressing time through its own data compression technology, optimizing storage efficiently, supporting transactional memory to ensure strong data consistency for POWER appliances, optimizing the PCI-E bus architecture, supporting InfiniBand communication tuning, and enhancing appliance security attributes.

GBase demonstrates the power of database technology. As the OpenPOWER ecosystem continues to grow, OpenPOWER-based solutions will increasingly appear in enterprise-grade deployments. As a database vendor, GBase will firmly seize these opportunities, continuously innovate, and showcase the strength and charm of its database technology.
