First Chinese database company listed on the NEEQ, GBase is poised to become an industry leader.

On September 7, 2015, Tianjin General Data Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as GBase) held a listing ceremony, officially announcing its debut on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) with stock code 833056. GBase thus opened a new chapter for China's database industry, becoming the veritable first listed Chinese database company.

At about 1:30 p.m. on September 7, GBase held a listing event at the National Equities Exchange and Quotations Co., Ltd. with the theme "Winning at the High-End, GBase Ushers in a New Era for Chinese Database Software." GBase's Chairman Cui Weili, together with nearly 40 company executives and key employee representatives, attended the ceremony. GBase also invited guests including An Zhiyong, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Financial Affairs Bureau; Yang Junjie, Deputy Director of the Software Division of the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology; Wu Jianfeng, shareholder representative from ZTE Hechuang; and Zhang Sheng, Director of Agricultural Bank of China and key customer representative. At around 2:00 p.m., guided by the host, eight GBase representatives including Zhang Liang and Ding Yan from the marketing system, Yang Weiwei and Sun Ka from the technical support system, Chen Wenting, Zhang Shaoyong and Lu Ming from the R&D and testing system, as well as Ping Juan from the marketing system, jointly rang the opening bell. Nearly 20 media outlets, including China Business Journal, witnessed this solemn moment. It is reported that GBase's bell-ringing ceremony differed from the industry tradition of having corporate leaders ring the bell; instead, more frontline employees participated, which not only reflected the company's corporate culture but also aligned with GBase's management philosophy of employee stock ownership.

Established in 2004, GBase has a registered capital of 100 million yuan and employs over 520 staff. Headquartered in Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area, it has branch offices and agencies in nearly 20 provinces and cities including Beijing, Shenyang, Xi'an, Jinan, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Guangzhou, covering the vast majority of the country. For three consecutive years, it has been designated as a "Key Software Enterprise within the National Planning Layout" and is the largest, highest-market-share, and most technologically advanced supplier of Chinese database products and solutions.

Currently, China is formulating a national big data strategy, which has already been included in the 13th Five-Year Plan. According to the 2015 White Paper on China's Big Data Industry, the Chinese big data market reached 76.7 billion yuan in 2014 and is projected to reach 800 billion yuan by 2020. Big data has broad application potential in reducing economic and social operating costs and improving government decision-making efficiency. However, Chinese database products account for only 6% of the market, clearly insufficient to support the national information security strategy of "self-reliance and information security." The domestic IT market urgently needs a high-end Chinese database product that can truly meet the core business demands of high-end industries such as finance, telecommunications, and government affairs.

Against this backdrop, GBase's listing on NEEQ sounded the clarion call for Chinese database products to challenge international mainstream database products represented by Oracle, ushering in a new era for the development of China's database software industry and providing the possibility for the nation to further implement its information security strategy of self-reliance and security.
