[Shenzhen, China, May 20, 2020] During the 2020 Huawei Global Analyst Summit, Huawei joined forces with SAP, Deloitte, E-Hualu, General Data Technology (GBase), Digital China, Dameng, E-Origin, Transwarp, and other partners to unveil its data infrastructure development strategy. Zhou Yuefeng, Vice President of HUAWEI CLOUD & AI BG and President of the Data Storage and Machine Vision Product Line, said, "Data has become a production factor as important as land, labor, capital, and technology. Huawei and Industry Partners Jointly Launch Data Infrastructure Development Strategy

According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), in 2018, 38 countries worldwide saw digital economy growth rates significantly higher than their GDP growth rates during the same period. China’s digital economy reached 31.3 trillion yuan, growing at 13.9%. In the digital economy era, building data infrastructure for massive data is a key initiative to help industries embrace the digital economy wave. Data infrastructure encompasses data collection and sensing, data storage, computing and networking, digital energy, data processing, data enablement, and full-lifecycle data management. Zhou Yuefeng stated that Huawei will focus on building core capabilities and work with ecosystem partners to create leading data infrastructure.

Data Storage: Launching the industry-leading high-performance OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage and the OceanStor Pacific Series for massive data. The OceanStor Dorado series delivers ultra-high performance of 20 million IOPS and 0.1 ms latency, along with the industry’s only controller failure tolerance that allows 7 out of 8 controllers to fail while maintaining operation, ensuring continuous online operation for core transaction services with zero downtime. The OceanStor Pacific Series, through innovations in intelligent data compression algorithms, vNode hardware architecture, multi-protocol interworking across block, file, object, and HDFS storage, and separation of storage and compute, achieves a 30% improvement in overall resource utilization and up to 62.5% reduction in data center footprint, making massive data storage and processing more cost-effective.
 

Data Management: Introducing a full-lifecycle Data Management System (DMS) for planning, building, maintenance, and optimization of data storage, delivering end-to-end intelligence from resource provisioning to fault diagnosis and enabling "self-driving" data storage management.
 

To empower the ecosystem, Huawei works with partners to deliver three scenario-based data infrastructure solutions: intelligent production and transaction, intelligent data lake, and intelligent edge data.
