GBase 8a Completes Big Data Platform Deployment at a Major State-Owned Bank
It is widely recognized that databases are key software in the IT industry. In the digital transformation of sectors such as finance, telecommunications, and government, stability is a critical benchmark for databases. After GBASE's self-developed distributed parallel database cluster GBase 8a MPP Cluster was deployed in the big data platform project at the Agricultural Bank of China's head office, it has been running stably for over 1,600 days. Recently, it completed deployment at the head office big data platform of another major state-owned bank, and has been deployed in more than 10 of its branches, with a total of nearly 400 nodes and over 1,700 TB of data.
Project Background
In recent years, with the advent of the big data era, the data scale of banks has grown rapidly, and data sources and formats have become increasingly diverse. There is a growing need for multi-level, high-timeliness analysis and mining of massive data.
Requirement Analysis
An open x86 MPP architecture analytical database, as a key part of the head office's big data initiative, supports the transition of back-office data application systems from centralized to distributed architectures. This enables significantly improved big data computing and processing capabilities and enhances business experiences while keeping costs under control.
Solution
This project uses the GBase 8a MPP Cluster product independently developed by General Data Technology Co., Ltd. The product is designed for massive data analytics applications. It adopts an x86-based shared-nothing distributed architecture, underpinned by unique columnar storage, compression, and intelligent indexing technologies. It is built to meet the growing demands for data analysis, data mining, data backup, and ad-hoc queries in data-intensive industries, and can serve as the underlying database for data warehousing, BI, and decision support systems.
The head office has deployed ten applications, including the SAS Model Management Platform, Monitoring Standardized Data Reporting Platform, Audit Intelligence Analysis Platform, Integrated Risk and Data Mart Project, Risk Data Mart, Personal Banking Product Portfolio Management System Supporting Project, Data Innovation Platform, and the Information Management Reporting System. In total, there are 13 clusters with 280 nodes, processing 1,530 TB of data, comprehensively supporting the head office's analytical scenarios.
