GBase Honored with Outstanding Case Award at 2019 Government Informatization Summit
On December 15, the "Digital Government Serving Society" 2019 Government Informatization Summit and Annual Conference of the Government Informatization Branch, hosted by the Government Informatization Branch of the China Computer Users Association, was held at the Beijing Wanshou Hotel. The successful case of the GBase Smart Government Big Data Platform project won the Outstanding Case Award, and GBase was also appointed as an Executive Council Member organization.
GBase's database and big data products have been applied in the government sector for over 15 years, providing more than 2,000 sets of databases, big data platforms, data security, and application systems to over 40 ministries and commissions, including development and reform, public security, taxation, finance, social security, customs, and maritime affairs, with deployments covering 32 provinces and municipalities nationwide. GBase is a trusted provider of Chinese database products and services for government users.
The Smart Government Big Data Platform employs scientific statistical methods and advanced technologies to establish a unified data management system. It has been successfully deployed and operated in multiple provincial and municipal government systems. By building a data resource management platform, it unifies, standardizes, and secures data usage across various government application systems, enhancing data service quality and improving data service functionalities.
Once completed, the platform enables intensive development of government data resources, directly saving significant hardware investment and management personnel and time costs. It effectively avoids resource crowding and waste caused by fragmented management and redundant operations, playing an important demonstrative role in building a resource-conserving society. On the other hand, it enables unified management of foundational government data, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy. This not only improves the quality and efficiency of government data services and safeguards the authority of foundational government data, but also provides high-quality data sources for data applications, enabling full internal data sharing and open external cooperation, better supporting national macro-control, policy adjustments, and government management services.
The Smart Government Big Data Platform is positioned in the application support layer of the overall IT system architecture. Built on data governance, it implements planning, processing, and evaluation of business data resources. The platform's functions are divided into four layers from bottom to top: data layer, interface layer, function layer, and presentation layer, with the system functional architecture as follows:
Data Layer: Covers various structured and unstructured data in the government industry, included as data assets for unified management on the platform. The data layer employs a combination of the Chinese secure database GBase 8s and the analytical column-store database GBase 8a, meeting the data security requirements of government departments while providing high-performance data analysis and query capabilities.
Interface Layer: Provides application support for various application functions, offering six types of data access and processing interfaces based on the data layer: data processing, data exchange, data query, data inspection, data security, and file operation interfaces, providing fundamental technical support for the function layer.
Function Layer: Addressing data center management needs in the government industry, it provides five categories of application functions: data resource management (including data asset management, data registration management, data monitoring management, data application performance management, and data lifecycle management), data quality control (including data quality management and abnormal data publication and handling management), data usage security management, data query and analysis management, and document data retrieval and collision. These provide project application technical support for data management in the government industry.
Presentation Layer: Based on the platform's overall functionality, it provides eight types of data management services for government data management departments: indicator presentation, evaluation reports, self-service analysis, asset evaluation, operational diagnosis, data distribution, access management, and performance assessment, achieving unified management of government system data resources. The platform's presentation layer adopts the advanced GBaseBI product, enabling the generation of certain presentation pages through drag-and-drop, effectively reducing system development workload while enhancing system flexibility and scalability.
