Official Announcement! GBASE Returns to the Gartner DMSA Magic Quadrant
Recently, Gartner released its Magic Quadrant for Data Management Solutions for Analytics (DMSA).
GBASE has once again been placed in the quadrant, marking its second consecutive year among the global leaders in analytics data management solutions.
The 2019 Magic Quadrant included 19 vendors, three fewer than the previous year. As in 2018, all three Asia/Pacific vendors are from China: GBase, Huawei, and Alibaba Cloud. Apart from three European companies—Micro Focus, SAP, and Arm—the remaining 13 are U.S.-based.
According to Gartner, GBase’s strengths lie in three areas:
1. LDW (Logical Data Warehouse) functionality and vision: Through GBase UP, GBASE delivers a robust LDW foundation that deeply integrates traditional, relational-model-based MPP database technology with Hadoop-based, non-relational exploratory analytics into a unified platform.
2. Customer loyalty: Surveyed users indicate plans to purchase additional GBase licenses, and a relatively high percentage say they would recommend the product to others.
3. Pricing and contract flexibility: Respondents rate the pricing and contract flexibility very highly.
Being recognized in the Gartner DMSA Magic Quadrant for two consecutive years demonstrates that GBASE meets international benchmarks in product maturity, stability, service and support, R&D vision, and market share—while building a distinct competitive advantage in Asia/Pacific.
GBASE Analytics Data Management Solutions Overview
GBase 8a Analytic Database: Designed for data-intensive industries with growing demands for data querying, statistics, analysis, mining, and backup, it serves as the underlying database for data warehouse systems, BI systems, and decision support systems. As a proven database, GBase 8a MPP Cluster (a massively parallel processing distributed database management system) has been deployed for hundreds of customers, managing over 100 PB of live data across 5,000+ nodes. It underpins core business systems for organizations such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the General Administration of Customs, the People’s Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China, State Grid Corporation of China, and China Mobile, earning strong user recognition.
GBase HD Big Data Management System: Built on a curated and enhanced version of leading open-source community projects, GBase HD integrates mature Hadoop ecosystem components with surrounding management tools and upper-layer development extensions, providing the foundation for enterprise big data infrastructure.
GBase UP Unified Big Data Platform: GBase UP delivers a one-stop, easy-to-configure, low-barrier big data solution that is hyper-converged, open, and capable of handling all data types. It is the ideal platform for enterprise big data implementation. GBase UP fuses transaction processing databases, MPP databases, Hadoop, Spark, and other data management and processing technologies into a single, unified platform that offers consistent services—making it the perfect foundation for data lakes, logical data warehouses, and cloud-based Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) environments.
As cloud-native and non-relational technologies evolve alongside traditional approaches, the database market is heating up and competition is intensifying. GBASE’s consecutive placement reflects continuous product innovation and strong customer support. Going forward, GBASE will maintain its strengths, sharpen its core competitiveness, and keep delivering strong results to the market.
