Kunpeng Application Innovation Contest 2022 National Finals

The Kunpeng Application Innovation Contest is a premier competition for global developers. Co-hosted by 21 Kunpeng ecosystem innovation centers and Huawei, together with the China Software Industry Association, the Green Computing Industry Alliance, the China Computer Industry Association, and the CCF High-Performance Computing Committee, the contest adopted a two-stage format of regional and national competitions, with seven simultaneous tracks: Digital Government, FinTech, Enterprise Digitalization, Startup Application, openEuler, openGauss, and HPC. It aims to inspire industry application innovation, accelerate industry integration, promote talent development, and engage industry-wide developers to build comprehensive Kunpeng-based solutions.

General Data Technology’s “Distributed Database Solution Based on openGauss with Multi-Model and Multi-Form Capabilities”

Facing extreme performance requirements such as high concurrency, high throughput, and special scenarios in key industries like Internet, finance, and government services, General Data Technology took on the challenges and meticulously developed a distributed transactional database product, introducing GBase 8c—a multi-model, multi-form distributed database based on openGauss 3.0. This is also the industry’s first distributed database product built on openGauss 3.0. In this prestigious competition, GBase 8c further enhanced its adaptation and optimization with the Kunpeng ecosystem, achieving remarkable results.

Product Technical Features

GBase 8c supports multiple storage modes, including row-based, columnar, and in-memory, as well as various deployment forms such as standalone, primary-standby, and distributed. It delivers high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and high security. It can be deployed on physical machines, virtual machines, containers, public clouds, and private clouds, providing secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for core systems in critical industries, Internet applications, and government and enterprise business systems.

Multi-Model and Multi-Form: Supports row-based, columnar, and in-memory storage modes; supports standalone, primary-standby, and distributed deployment forms. Multiple product forms can be configured on demand, allowing flexible and controlled resource investment and lowering total cost of ownership.

Extreme High Performance: Multi-version concurrency control (MVCC); distributed elastic scale-out ratio > 0.9; NUMA-optimized architecture for high performance.

Extreme High Availability: No single point of failure globally, with high availability reaching 99.999%. Effectively eliminates the risk of system unavailability caused by single-point failures.

Extreme Elasticity: Supports online scale-out and scale-in; linear scaling of compute and storage capabilities.

Extreme Security: Supports Chinese national cryptographic algorithms, compliant with national information security standards; features access control, encrypted authentication, database audit, dynamic data masking, and other security capabilities.

GBase 8c Product Architecture

To date, GBase 8c has been successfully deployed in multiple projects, including health QR code systems, city commercial bank online lending platforms, identity authentication platforms, and market regulation commission projects. It is compatible with most of China’s domestic ecosystem and provides comprehensive solutions that fully meet requirements for functionality, PL/SQL management, high availability, security, scalability, O&M management, and monitoring, with superior performance. Furthermore, GBase 8c ensures data security and fully autonomous and controllable technology across the platform.

Since its establishment, General Data Technology has been deeply involved in the research and development of China’s independently developed database products and has made breakthroughs in key core database technologies. Going forward, the company will uphold its mission of “becoming the most trusted database product provider for users,” continuously optimize products and services, actively contribute to China’s open-source community, and achieve innovative win-win outcomes with partners.
