[GBASE Training] Certification Training | Registration for the 9th GBase 8s Training Camp is now open~
In November 2022, the GBase Training Center plans to hold the 9th “GBase 8s Database Certification Training Course” this year. This training is designed to quickly master GBase 8s, a shared-storage database cluster. It remains a completely free certification training, starting on November 7. All homegrown database enthusiasts are welcome to sign up!!
Product Introduction
GBase 8s is a mature and robust shared-storage database cluster independently developed by GBase with proprietary intellectual property rights. The product has achieved Level 4 Security Database Standard (equivalent to B2), supports national cryptographic algorithms, and complies with international database standards and development interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python. It supports centralized deployment, shared-storage high-availability deployment, and “two-site three-center” high-availability deployment. It delivers high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance, providing a cost-effective general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management.
GBase 8s is suitable for OLTP application scenarios, including core business systems in the financial and telecommunications sectors, and information systems in sectors such as national security, government, and defense that have high information security requirements, providing 24/7 uninterrupted operation capability.
Course Introduction
Starting from zero basics of GBase 8s, this course covers the principles, installation, deployment, management, maintenance, and basic SQL development of 8s. Through learning, participants will be able to rapidly deploy a shared-storage database cluster GBase 8s in a Linux environment and master basic GBase 8s operations such as installation, deployment, management, data import/export, and backup.
Training Schedule
The entire course consists of two phases: learning and exam. There are 14 days of learning (including one mock exam) and two certification exam attempts. The training and exams are organized via an online learning platform. With daily study reminders within the group, HTML documentation of training materials, and Q&A from professional instructors, the course is scientifically structured to guide you step by step and help you easily master the fundamentals of homegrown databases.

Past Participants’ Feedback
Project Manager, Shandong Mobile: The GBase 8s training was truly a feast of knowledge. The course arrangement was rich, well-organized, and intensive; the training camp atmosphere was collaborative and lively; and the video blogs were practical and easy to follow. New video lessons were unlocked each day, with appropriate lengths, and there were convenient directory links in the WeChat group. You can make use of your spare time to learn. The instructors explained concepts from basic principles to hands-on operations very clearly and thoroughly. Moreover, both GBase instructors and fellow trainees were enthusiastic and actively answered every question in the training WeChat group. In addition, the blog posts by instructor Ji Hui from GBase were very practical; working through them from beginning to end is definitely great material for beginners.
IT Product Manager, Jiangsu Mobile: The instructor's lectures were like a sumptuous feast, exquisitely presented in the training class. It’s truly a case of “a few words from an expert are worth years of study.” The instructor unreservedly shared their experience with everyone, making complex topics accessible, which was truly brilliant and diverse.
Development Engineer, Software Center of a Bank: The course lasted 14 days. As beginners, we learned the principles, installation, deployment, management, maintenance, and basic SQL development of the 8s database through online lessons. Through these lessons, we are now able to master basic GBase 8s operations such as installation and deployment, management and maintenance, data import/export, backup, etc. The instructor also demonstrated operations, and the explanations were very detailed. I felt the course was very practical and valuable. Meanwhile, the instructor also sent us HTML courseware, allowing us to study alongside it. Even after class, we can review it anytime. The whole course was immensely beneficial, and I hope to continue learning more about GBase.
Data Architect, Servyou Jiangsu: This training was organized in the form of an online training camp, which was very convenient. Not only was the training free, but a cloud environment was also provided for hands-on practice. The most impressive part was that the instructors’ explanations of key points were incredibly detailed, right down to the bone. They answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. Many thanks to the instructors and to all the fellow learners who shared their questions throughout the learning process.
Teacher, Information College of a Vocational College: Coming from a school setting, I've mostly worked with foreign databases and always felt something was missing. Through this training, I discovered that homegrown databases are by no means inferior, and they actually align better with Chinese users’ habits, which is worth promoting. A course on homegrown databases can be established at the school to cultivate and influence a batch of students, gradually advancing the use of locally developed databases and expanding their presence.
Architect at an Archival Technology Company in Hubei: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a brand-new understanding of GBase products. The training covered a lot of content; I spent a few days focused on learning, and the videos were very helpful. I used most of the content in my tests, and the database’s SQL compatibility was also excellent. Except for a few specific syntaxes, it is largely compatible with common database products. I tried migrating a previous project to the GBase database and found it quite simple. One special point is that the training was free, in contrast to similar training from other vendors which can cost thousands. I think this shows GBase's integrity; it is clear that GBase is building a direct ecosystem, not just chasing profit. I believe that products from such a conscientious company will also be excellent.
