GBASE Database September Compatibility Summary

Published on 2022-10-26

As the core software of information systems, databases orchestrate system resources downward and support application software upward, undertaking the critical tasks of managing, organizing, storing, and computing data. In September, three GBASE database products—the massively parallel analytical database GBase 8a, the shared-storage database cluster GBase 8s, and the multi-model distributed database GBase 8c—completed compatibility certifications with 28 products from 15 upstream and downstream software and hardware vendors. These products span servers, CPUs, cloud platforms, big data, GIS systems, security products, industry applications, and general-purpose software. The certification results fully meet compatibility requirements, with normal product functionality and efficient, stable operation, comprehensively validating the robust compatibility capabilities of GBase databases.

GBase 8a is a distributed parallel database cluster independently developed by GBASE, based on a Shared Nothing architecture. It delivers high performance, high availability, and high scalability, providing a cost-effective general computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management. It is widely used to support data warehouse systems, BI systems, and decision support systems, and is deployed at scale in industries with massive business data, such as finance, telecommunications, and energy, demonstrating outstanding performance in the business analytics and business intelligence markets.

In September, GBase 8a MPP Cluster completed compatibility adaptation with products including DataPipeline real-time data integration, JD Cloud private cloud platform, TurboDX V5.0, and Suma R62 series, R52 series, and R32 series servers.

GBase 8s is a mature and stable shared-storage database cluster independently developed by GBASE with proprietary intellectual property. It is primarily suited for OLTP application scenarios, including core information systems in pillar industries of the national economy such as finance and telecommunications, business management information systems of large enterprises, and classified information systems with high data security requirements. Validated through extensive user and project testing, GBase 8s can fully replace mainstream international databases and meet customer demands.

In September, GBase 8s completed compatibility adaptation with 21 application software products from upstream and downstream partners, including Xindun, Hand, Suma, and ShuBei.

GBase 8c is a multi-model, multi-deployment enterprise-grade distributed database. It supports multiple storage modes including row-store, column-store, and in-memory, and offers various deployment options such as standalone, active-standby, and distributed. GBase 8c delivers high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and strong security. It can be deployed on physical machines, virtual machines, containers, private clouds, and public clouds, providing secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for core systems in key industries, internet business systems, and government and enterprise systems. The GBase 8c product family includes the database core, a general management platform, a data migration platform, a security management platform, and a management control platform, offering users an end-to-end service capability covering installation and deployment, data migration, and routine operations.

This month, GBase 8c completed compatibility certifications with Geovis, Suma, and Esri China.

Products may be replaced by scenarios, and industries will eventually be shaped by ecosystems. Amid the vigorous growth of China’s software and hardware industry, GBASE is looking beyond just iterative performance upgrades. By stepping out of a product-centric focus to address customer scenarios, and by transcending individual industries to build a robust ecosystem, GBASE is forging a new direction: creating full-scene data governance solutions anchored in a partner ecosystem. In the future, GBASE will continue to uphold the ecosystem collaboration philosophy of “Openness for mutual success, co-construction and sharing, and symbiosis for shared prosperity,” joining hands with partners to deliver aggregated empowerment, co-build the ecosystem, and unlock greater data value for enterprise customers.
