GBASE helped Bank of Hebei win the 2023 IT Application Innovation Competition Financial Business Innovation Application Track Final Excellence Award and the Outstanding Self-Development Capability Award.

Recently, the “2023 IT Application Innovation Competition Financial Business Innovation Application Track” event officially concluded. The “Bank of Hebei Data Platform Upgrade and Migration Team,” jointly formed by technical personnel from Bank of Hebei, GBASE, and GienTech, won the Final Excellence Award and the Outstanding Self-Development Capability Award.

This IT Application Innovation Competition, themed “Financial Leadership and Innovation Integration,” was guided by the China Electronics Standardization Association, Beihang University, and Beijing Institute of Technology, and co-hosted by the China Financial Certification Authority (CFCA) and China UnionPay Cloud Computing Center. It focused on evaluating the best practices of digital financial innovation among financial institutions. Participating teams included 52 outstanding financial institutions in China, covering banking, insurance, and securities sectors.

Solution Introduction

The award-winning Bank of Hebei data platform solution based on a “lake-house integration” architecture selected the GBase 8a MPP database for the data platform upgrade and migration. Combined with the bank’s original data lake, it formed a lake-house integrated data service system with an MPP + Hadoop technology stack.

The next-generation lake-house data platform combines the advantages of both lake and warehouse, integrating massive storage and high-performance computing capabilities to achieve rapid ingestion and storage of large-scale, multi-type data. It rebuilds data models in a more business-oriented manner, distills common requirements, and constructs a one-stop data development and delivery system. Meanwhile, the new platform restructures the standard data system, establishes systematic specifications for data architecture, model design, and data development, and forms a long-term mechanism for data standard management and data quality control, thus completing an effective closed loop for full lifecycle data management and governance.
