It focused on practical experiences in databases, lightweight cloud, core systems, counter terminals, and more, attracting over 130 participants from financial institutions and technology enterprises across the province.
Large-Scale Deployment of GBase Databases in the Financial Industry
At the conference, Su Yuanchang, Technical Director of the South China Marketing Department at GBase, delivered a keynote speech titled “Best Practices for Large-Scale GBase Database Deployment in Banking Institutions.”
Financial infrastructure serves as the “roads and bridges” for financial transactions and operations, providing the foundational guarantee for stable and efficient financial operations. As a critical component of this infrastructure, database software strongly supports the digital transformation of the financial industry.
Data processing in financial business systems involves two types: online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP). Business systems can be further categorized into office systems, general systems, and core systems. Faced with massive business data and diverse, complex application scenarios, a single database product cannot address all requirements; each scenario needs a specialized database to support it.
Against this backdrop, GBase focuses on core database technology and builds a full-stack database product portfolio, aligning with different application scenarios and leveraging varying database products to maximize system hardware performance and application requirements. Each product category concentrates on solving the most critical problems, thereby delivering targeted services to financial institutions. Be it transactional or analytical databases, centralized or distributed architectures, or emerging products like cloud-native and vector databases, GBase offers mature, corresponding database solutions.
At the same time, GBase has been continuously refined through complex financial application scenarios, accumulating a wealth of financial industry case studies and extensive engineering deployment experience. The company's independently developed GBase database series have been deployed and applied at scale in the financial sector, serving over 150 financial users with more than 20,000 database instances, of which over 10,000 are used for core business systems and general business systems, managing more than 200 petabytes of data.Taking the banking industry as an example, many supervisory agencies, large state-owned banks, joint-stock banks, city commercial banks, and provincial rural credit cooperatives have chosen to build their business systems on GBase databases. The widespread use of GBase databases in the financial industry has significantly improved the security and control level of database systems in the sector.
As domestic databases are increasingly deployed in critical and core financial systems, GBase will continue to innovate core technologies, enhance service capabilities, explore new application models, improve user experience, and contribute to building next-generation financial information infrastructure.
