GBase Showcases at the 8th China International Pipeline Conference, Driving Green Transformation and Intelligent Upgrades in the Energy Industry
On April 10, the 8th China International Pipeline Conference and Technology Equipment and Achievements Exhibition (CIPC), themed "Green, Smart, Integration, Development", concluded successfully at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. As a leading database provider in China, GBase was invited to participate, showcasing its full-stack GBase database products and solutions for the energy pipeline transportation sector. At the digital and smart transformation forum, GBase shared its application practices in helping PipeChina build the "central nerve" of the energy artery.
As a key platform for academic exchange and industry cooperation in the global oil and gas pipeline sector, this year's CIPC focused on hot topics such as green pipeline construction, smart pipeline operation and maintenance, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology. It featured eight themed forums and a technology equipment and achievements exhibition area, attracting over 3,500 delegates from 33 countries, including 187 Chinese and international academicians, industry experts, and renowned scholars, who jointly explored cutting-edge technologies and future development directions in the energy pipeline transportation industry.
Energy is the cornerstone of human survival and development, and pipelines, as the core infrastructure of global energy transportation, profoundly influence and shape the world's political and economic landscape. Against the backdrop of profound changes in the global energy landscape, technological progress and energy transition are accelerating. Energy security has transcended national borders. Achieving independent innovation in key core technologies and building a secure and controllable supply chain system to realize high-quality digital and intelligent transformation have become the inevitable path to address risks and challenges.
Zhao Jie, General Manager of the Energy & Transportation Department at GBase, delivered a speech titled "Sharing GBase Database Application Practices for Indigenous IT Innovation in the Energy Industry" at the Digital and Smart Forum on the afternoon of April 10.
Zhao Jie stated: Amid the wave of digital transformation in energy, GBase database, with its enterprise-grade features of high performance, high reliability, high security, and easy scalability, facilitates the integrated development of digital and intelligent transformation and indigenous IT innovation for energy enterprises.
Based on the company's practices in the energy industry, Zhao highlighted the application value of GBase database in key scenarios such as the domestic replacement of SCADA systems for PipeChina and the Smart Oilfield Smart Cloud Data Lake at Sinopec.
PipeChina is China's largest operator of oil and gas energy storage and transportation infrastructure. Its oil and gas pipeline SCADA system automates production process control and scheduling for oil and gas pipelines, serving as the "nerve center" of China's 195,000-kilometer trunk pipeline "artery." GBase database provides solid support for data acquisition and monitoring at PipeChina's large control center level, supporting the launch of 15 business information systems for production and management, with over 1,000 database deployments, achieving independent and controllable relational database functionality in the SCADA system and effectively reducing the costs of pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance.
China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), the world's largest oil refining company, is China's largest supplier of refined oil and petrochemical products. Its Smart Oilfield cloud platform construction focuses on core assets such as oil and gas reservoirs, individual wells, pipeline networks, and equipment, enabling dynamic reservoir management and optimization, as well as intelligent diagnosis and optimization of wells, pipelines, and equipment. Based on the headquarters' cloud environment, the project deployed multiple GBase database core products to reconstruct the original business systems, achieving unified management and access for six types of business data across three major categories, eliminating over ten coexisting data storage engines in the original system, and greatly streamlining data processing workflows. It also provides parallel processing of massive and complex business data, supporting the loading and management of hundreds of TBs of business data and delivering sub-second query responses for massive data.
The GBase database product series has passed the "Security and Reliability Evaluation" for both centralized and distributed databases. Leveraging its mastery of core database technologies, GBase helps energy industry users build data foundations and various business systems with higher reliability, scalability, and stable controllability, enabling technological innovation and business development, and achieving genuine cost reduction, efficiency gains, and value enhancement.
The conference also featured a technology equipment and achievements exhibition area, attracting nearly 500 companies from 16 countries and regions. GBase showcased its full-stack data products and scenario-based solutions for the energy industry at its booth, engaging in in-depth exchanges with industry users and partners on new technologies and achievements combining databases with energy pipeline transportation.
Green and smart are the main themes for the future development of the energy pipeline transportation industry, and indigenous innovation in core technologies is the key engine to achieve this goal. Going forward, GBase will continue to provide users across various industries with independently innovative, secure, and controllable database products and technical services, relentlessly exploring the path of digital and intelligent transformation in the energy industry, and helping the energy pipeline transportation sector move towards a greener and smarter new era.
