GBase leads CAICT's "China Database Industry Map (2025)"

Published on 2025-07-17

On July 16–17, 2025, the 2025 Trusted Database Development Conference, themed “Independence, Innovation, and Leadership,” was held in Beijing. The China Database Industry Map (2025) was released at the conference, with GBase databases leading multiple industries in both the transactional and analytical domains.

GBase Databases Lead the China Database Industry Map (2025)

During the conference, CAICT released the China Database Industry Map (2025). The 2025 edition centers on database vendors represented by transactional and analytical databases, retains the Leader and Challenger designations, and adds typical industry application scenarios.

In the analytical database segment, GBase databases rank first among Leaders in the finance and telecommunications industries and are representative vendors in industries including meteorology, energy, and government affairs; in the transactional database segment, GBase databases are Leaders in the finance and telecommunications industries and have been selected as representative vendors in eight industries, including government affairs, transportation, energy, the Internet, aerospace & defense, manufacturing, and healthcare. In addition, GBase databases were selected for the database security and database ecosystem community segments of the map.

Main Forum Presentation: Breakthroughs in GBase 8s Database Cluster Technology

At the conference’s main forum, Cui Zhiwei, General Manager of the GBASE GBase 8s Product Line, delivered a keynote speech titled From Availability to Reliability: Breakthroughs in Centralized Database Cluster Technology and Ecosystem Development.

Cui Zhiwei stated that the R&D of domestic databases is a systematic undertaking involving compatibility, drivers and interfaces, storage engines, optimizers, peripheral supporting tools, ORM middleware, and the development ecosystem; any shortcoming directly affects user experience. There are currently more than 180 domestic database products, resulting in fierce competition, but there is also serious homogeneity in database origins. GBASE has made extensive functional enhancements and improvements to GBase 8s database compatibility with Oracle and MySQL, and has achieved significant progress in primary-standby clusters and shared-storage clusters. In performance stress-testing scenarios, RP0=0,RTO<3s. GBase 8s delivers highly compatible, highly reliable, cost-effective cluster solutions with strong consistency. The successful practices and applications of GBase 8s databases in different scenarios across industries such as electric power, finance, government affairs, transportation, and energy fully demonstrate that GBase 8s is a domestic database capable of supporting core business scenarios.

During the roundtable forum, Cui Zhiwei engaged in in-depth discussions with database experts, scholars, and technology pioneers on the topic of “Data-Intelligence Integration: Prospects for Database Technology, Industry, and Ecosystems in the New Era.” GBASE is using AI technology as an engine to drive leaps in database performance, syntax optimization, and intelligent O&M. To address users’ diverse application scenarios, GBASE maintains that different business scenarios require different database product forms, identifying database solutions best suited to customers’ scenarios. Based on the performance of leading database vendors, both distributed and centralized database vendors are gradually releasing shared-storage clusters. The GBase 8s shared-storage cluster was the earliest to go live among domestic databases and is also the most mature, stable, and field-proven shared-storage cluster.

Finance Subforum Focus: A New Paradigm for Empowering Enterprise-Wide Data

At the finance industry subforum, Wu Gang, General Manager of the GBASE Financial Business Department, delivered a keynote speech titled From Data Silos to Secure Interconnection: A New Paradigm for Empowering Enterprise-Wide Data in the Financial Industry.

In his presentation, Wu Gang elaborated on the role of the technical architecture of the fully self-developed GBase database product in empowering data in the financial industry. He also focused on how GBase databases further refine financial application scenarios, subdividing services through integrated storage and computing and the separation of storage and computing, enabling a new paradigm for enterprise-wide data in stable and agile financial services, and introduced the core advantages of GBase databases through benchmark financial cases.

Wu Gang stated: We hope GBase databases can better help the financial industry break down data silos through cloud data warehouses, achieve secure interconnection and efficient sharing of enterprise-wide data, and support improvements in business innovation capabilities, risk management and control, and customer service quality.

Leadership Initiative: Accelerating Independent and Controllable Databases for Core Systems

During the conference, GBASE, as a representative of the first group of initiating organizations, jointly launched the “Core System Database Application Innovation Leadership Initiative” with industry partners. Led by CAICT, the initiative aims to build industry consensus and accelerate progress in the independent and controllable development of core systems. GBASE will fully leverage its strengths to contribute to the independent and controllable development of databases for core systems.

Going forward, GBASE will continue to uphold the concept of innovation-driven development, increase R&D investment, continuously optimize products and services, and make greater contributions to promoting the independent, trustworthy, and high-quality development of China’s database industry, as well as supporting digital transformation and intelligent upgrades across industries.
