On October 11, the Tianjin stop of the ’2025 GBase Database China Tour‘, themed ’Deepening the Data Foundation, Co-building the Industry Cornerstone‘, was successfully held. The event brought together over 200 representatives from local government, enterprises, and ecosystem partners in the region. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the innovation and application of core foundational software and hardware such as databases, chips, and operating systems, and jointly explored digital transformation paths in the new landscape.

The event was co-hosted by GBase and Hygon Information Technology Co., Ltd. It aimed to bring together leading IT companies in the Tianjin area, targeting customers, channel partners, platform providers, and ecosystem partners across the region, to jointly discuss digital transformation strategies for various organizations in the new era, seize the integration and application of information technology across industries, and drive business model innovation.

At the opening, Liu Xianming, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of Tianjin Binhai Hi-Tech Zone, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, and Director of the IT Application Innovation Industry Bureau, and Chen Mingzhi, General Manager of North China at General Data Technology Co., Ltd., delivered opening remarks, expressing warm welcome and gratitude to all guests and partners, sharing their outlook on future trends in the IT application innovation industry, and conveying a shared vision of collaboration and mutual success.

As a critical foundational software, databases are of great significance for safeguarding national digital security and promoting technological self-reliance and independence. China‘s software industry continues to develop, and IT application innovation industry clusters are accelerating their formation. Leveraging its geographic and industrial advantages, Tianjin has built a complete IT application innovation industry chain and is fully committed to becoming a national highland for this sector. He also emphasized that the Binhai Hi-Tech Zone, as the core area of Tianjin’s IT application innovation industry, is actively implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping‘s important speech during his inspection of Tianjin, focusing on developing new quality productive forces, promoting the ’integration of four chains‘, and optimizing the innovation ecosystem. He stated that the collaboration between GBase and Hygon exemplifies the trend of synergetic innovation in software and hardware, which will inject new momentum into the development of domestic foundational software and hardware.

Chen Mingzhi, General Manager of North China at General Data Technology Co., Ltd., stated in his remarks that the national IT application innovation strategy brings both opportunities for domestic databases, as well as challenges such as smooth migration, stable operation, and ecosystem completeness. GBase adheres to a user-driven approach, building a ’scenario-based product matrix‘ to serve multiple sectors including finance and government. Its technical achievements, such as the new storage engine of GBase 8s, provide effective support for domestication replacement.

He stressed that in the future, GBase will continue to collaborate with ecosystem partners such as Hygon, Kylin, Lenovo, and TianShu Group to jointly promote the ecosystem development of Tianjin’s IT application innovation industry and create comprehensive IT application innovation solutions for Tianjin. He also expressed hope that the ‘GBase Database China Tour’ will continue to serve as a high-value platform for the industry to exchange ideas, share experiences, and foster cooperation.

During the thematic sharing session, Wang Zhe, Director of the Tianjin Office of General Data Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled ‘Connect to Build New Heights in IT Application Innovation‘.

He systematically elaborated on the core concept of building an ’Industrial Neural Network.‘ He pointed out that just as intelligence emerges from interconnecting neurons, GBase is committed to fostering the co-evolution of the IT application innovation industry through deep connectivity among technologies, partners, and needs. He emphasized that the company is dedicated to collaborative ecosystems and promotes ’open resources,‘ encapsulating mature products and services into ready-to-use strategic capabilities. He also showcased the GBase product matrix, including analytical, transactional, and cloud-native databases, as well as a domestic database appliance jointly launched with Hygon. This full-stack technical capability solidifies the data foundation, contributing to the building of a Digital China.

He pointed out that in the context of accelerating convergence between the digital economy and artificial intelligence, Hygon chips, leveraging their comprehensive strengths in ’technology foundation, ecosystem empowerment, and scenario in-depth application‘, are becoming a key force propelling industrial intelligent upgrading. At the technology level, Hygon has built a ’CPU + DCU‘ dual-engine product matrix, dedicated to creating a self-controllable, secure, and reliable computing foundation. Among them, the C86 series CPUs are fully compatible with the x86 ecosystem, achieving ’seamless replacement‘ with performance benchmarked against international mainstream products, and integrated with a national cryptographic security engine, providing robust security for key industries such as finance and government. Hygon DCUs focus on training and inference tasks for multimodal large models, significantly enhancing the availability and applicability of high-efficiency computing power. At the ecosystem level, Hygon adheres to an open and win-win strategy, continuously gathering industry strengths. Through the ’Hygon Ecological Organization‘, it has linked over 6,000 partners, completed adaptation with over 10,000 software and hardware products, and built a complete closed-loop ecosystem from ’chip – software – scenario‘, effectively driving the efficient conversion of technological innovation into industrial value.

Gu Zhiqiang, General Manager of the Government Affairs Department at Kylinsoft Co., Ltd., in his keynote ’Crossing the Last Mile of Deployment: Breaking Through with Domestic AI Operating System Applications‘, systematically introduced the development achievements and breakthrough solutions of their domestic AI operating system.

He elaborated, from the perspectives of the innovation chain, industry chain, and ecosystem chain, on the exploration path of optimizing iteration models leveraging the whole-of-nation system, and detailed the system’s AI capabilities, including an AI subsystem with a two-layer decoupling design, as well as application features such as AI assistant, shorthand, and data steward. Additionally, he showcased the Kylin OS product portfolio covering desktops and intelligent computing servers and their market applications, and shared strategic practices in building an ecosystem and promoting self-reliance in software and hardware through the ‘Kylin Partner’ program.

Gu Wei, Deputy General Manager of Lenovo (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. for the Tianjin region, provided a detailed introduction to Lenovo’s IT application innovation industry development.

He stated that Lenovo, after a forty-year development journey, is fully focusing on artificial intelligence, practicing the 3S strategy with the vision ‘Smarter Technology for All’, covering three main directions: smart devices, infrastructure, and solution services. In China’s IT application innovation market, Lenovo‘s ’Kaitian‘ business maintains a leading position, with terminal product shipments ranking first for 14 consecutive quarters, and comprehensive layout across PC terminals, enterprise-grade products, and solutions. At the same time, Lenovo continues to deepen its presence in Tianjin, having built the world’s sole IT application innovation product line industrial park in the Binhai New Area. By constructing a second campus, it achieved revenue of 36.8 billion yuan in 2024, steadily advancing IT application innovation products and supply chain construction. Furthermore, Lenovo actively participates in the ecosystem building of IT application innovation, completing adaptation with major domestic processors, operating systems, databases, and middleware, and achieving mutual certification with over 100 manufacturers, continuously contributing to the development of the regional and national IT application innovation industry.

Wang Bin, Head of the Enterprise Operations Department at Tianjin Digital Economy Industry Group, delivered a keynote speech titled ‘Independent Innovation, Ecosystem Empowerment: TianShu Group’s Innovative Practices in the IT Application Innovation Industry‘.

He introduced that since its establishment, TianShu Group has insisted on multi-dimensional and in-depth independent research and development of software products around new technologies and new fields, while actively adapting to domestic software and hardware, comprehensively improving product information security and data security capabilities, and is committed to providing solid technical support for key sectors such as government, central & state-owned enterprises, and national defense. In his speech, he shared the attempts and explorations of this Tianjin-based state-owned enterprise in technological breakthroughs and application implementation in fields such as smart government, AI + unmanned devices, and data services.

Currently, vigorously promoting the IT application innovation strategy is a critical path for China to achieve its digital economy transformation, and it complements the national goal of cultivating new quality productive forces.
