On December 28, 2025, Shenzhen Metro reached a new milestone as the West Extension of Line 5, Phase 3 of Line 8, Phase 2 of Line 11, and the northern section of Phase 1 of Line 13 commenced operation simultaneously, marking a new stage in the scale of Shenzhen’s urban rail transit network. This not only successfully supported real-time transaction processing and business management for tens of millions of passenger trips, but also achieved comprehensive technological sovereignty from the backend to the frontend, pioneering the break from the long-standing monopoly of foreign databases in core rail transit electromechanical systems. With the Phase IV lines now in operation and subsequent lines continuously integrating, GBase’s effectiveness has been systematically validated:
Large-scale stable support: The system has deployed hundreds of nodes across ACC/CLC centers and AFC station nodes, achieving unified integration of AFC systems for Phase IV and future Phase V lines while seamlessly incorporating earlier systems.
High-concurrency reliable operation: With daily ridership exceeding 10 million, the ACC system processes tens of millions of transactions per hour, and the CLC system maintains consistent stability under 3,600 concurrent connections, keeping overall resource utilization at a healthy 40%.
Efficient large-scale data management: The largest single table has exceeded 1.2 billion rows, fully supporting real-time big data processing needs such as passenger flow analysis and revenue clearing.
Remarkable cost-effectiveness: The fully indigenous solution based on GBase 8s reduced the database construction investment for Shenzhen Metro by approximately 60% compared to the original plan, while also optimizing subsequent O&M costs, truly achieving a win-win of technological sovereignty and cost control.
