Student Wang — Guangdong Vocational College of Posts and Telecom
It was a great honor to participate in the GBase 8c certification training organized by General Data Technology Co., Ltd. This training not only gave me a systematic mastery of GBase 8c’s core architecture and key features, but also gave me a deep appreciation for the powerful capabilities and independent innovation of China-developed databases in areas such as distributed design, high availability, and multi-model multi-mode support.
Over the days-long course, the instructor team, with their solid expertise and extensive hands-on experience, explained core topics in a clear and accessible way—installation and deployment, cluster management, SQL optimization, execution plan analysis, backup and recovery, security auditing, differences among row-store/column-store/MOT engines, and distributed transaction mechanisms. I was especially impressed by the deep dive into advanced features like the LightProxy execution mode, Plan Hint tuning, and online elastic scaling—precisely the key means we rely on in real projects to improve performance and stability.
Through the hands-on labs, I personally completed the entire process from single-node deployment to building a distributed cluster, from creating partitioned tables to configuring materialized views, and from enabling audit policies to performing efficient operations using gsql and DBeaver. This blended approach of theory and practice dramatically enhanced my practical understanding and problem-solving skills.
Engineer Yang — Changsha Xuri Human Resources Management Co., Ltd., Java Developer
The GBase 8c training was a systematic and efficient technical upskilling experience that gave me deeper insight into the design philosophy and practical application of China-developed distributed databases. The training started from architectural cores and clearly presented GBase 8c’s “multi-model, multi-mode” design—it can simultaneously support multiple storage engines such as row-store, column-store, and in-memory, and flexibly handle mixed workloads of transaction processing and analytical queries within a single system. This “one database for multiple purposes” capability is especially suited to today’s diverse data applications and complex workloads, avoiding the operational complexity and data redundancy that come with running multiple database systems.
The hands-on labs left a strong impression. By personally performing operations such as cluster deployment and row/column hybrid query optimization, I gained an intuitive feel for the balance between ease of use and high performance in GBase 8c. For example, the online scaling feature truly achieves business-transparent horizontal expansion, while the intelligent optimizer’s execution plan selection allows developers to focus on business logic instead of low-level sharding details. The full SQL compatibility and standard interface support emphasized in the training also greatly reduce the cost of migrating from traditional databases or adapting applications.
Worth noting is that the training not only explained features but also incorporated a wealth of real-world scenario cases, such as financial-grade high availability deployment, principles of distributed transaction implementation, and cross-data-center disaster recovery solutions, helping us extend from theory to engineering practice.
Engineer Zhang — Sichuan Jiuyuan Yinhai Software Co., Ltd., DBA
Participating in this GBase 8c database training was immensely rewarding and beneficial! I systematically learned core knowledge including backup formats, execution plans, audit configuration, and storage methods. This not only resolved technical confusions I had encountered at work but also gave me in-depth, hands-on skills in database installation, deployment, tool usage, and performance optimization. The course content closely aligned with real-world applications, with detailed case studies and thorough explanations that gave me a more comprehensive understanding of GBase 8c’s distributed features and multi-model storage advantages. I plan to flexibly apply what I’ve learned to improve data management and O&M efficiency. Many thanks to our instructors for their wholehearted teaching and to my fellow learners for the exchange and mutual support!

As a first-year student in a computer-related major, this was my first exposure to GBase 8c, a China-developed distributed database. This learning experience was extremely fruitful and gave me new perspectives on database technology and the development of China’s information technology industry.
GBase 8c allowed me to quickly build on my SQL knowledge, and its high availability and scalability features impressed me the most. In large-volume data query tests, its advantage of boosting efficiency through multi-node parallel processing let me intuitively feel the power of distributed technology and appreciate its importance in massive data scenarios. What touched me even more was the progress of China-developed technology: GBase 8c’s breakthroughs in core technologies showed me the capabilities and potential of China-developed databases.
Student Huang — Tianjin Electronic Information Vocational Technology College
At the beginning of the training, my understanding of GBase 8c was limited to the surface label of “China-developed distributed database”; I knew little about its architectural design, core features, and application scenarios. As the course progressed, the instructor started from the underlying architecture and explained in detail GBase 8c’s distributed transaction processing, multi-replica high-availability mechanisms, elastic scalability, and other core technical highlights. Combined with numerous hands-on cases, we were guided through database deployment, data migration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and a series of practical operations. The deep integration of theory and practice not only helped me grasp the technical principles but also gave me the key skills needed for real-world application.
Engineer Zhang — Hengshui Yuanchuang Network Technology Co., Ltd., O&M
This GBase 8c training was packed with substance, covering the full spectrum from installation and deployment to O&M troubleshooting. The hands-on cases were especially practical and allowed me to get up to speed quickly.
The training explained GBase 8c’s core features and hands-on tips thoroughly, and the instructors answered questions promptly. After working through the exercises, my understanding of this database became solidly grounded.
In just a few days of GBase 8c training, I not only clarified the key logic of the distributed architecture but also mastered practical commands for daily O&M—the gains far exceeded my expectations.
This training was highly targeted. From Linux environment configuration to database troubleshooting, every step provided clear guidance, allowing even newcomers to get started quickly with GBase 8c.

This set of training videos adopts a dual-track design of theory plus practice, which is very friendly to learners at different levels. It effectively guides everyone through the transformation from knowledge input to skill application, truly deepening understanding and mastery of the content.
In the theory section, instead of piling up dry concepts, the training explains core principles in plain language, paired with typical cases, logical framework diagrams, and supplementary background knowledge. This makes abstract knowledge points tangible, helping learners quickly build a systematic knowledge framework, clarify inner connections, and lay a solid foundation for subsequent practice.
The practice section closely follows the theory and designs progressive hands-on tasks: from basic imitation operations, to advanced integrated exercises, to challenging projects that mirror real work scenarios. Each practical step comes with detailed instructions, common troubleshooting guides, and result verification methods, enabling learners to learn and practice simultaneously, turning theoretical knowledge into applicable operational skills with their own hands.
This “learn then practice, reflect through practice” model not only lowers the barrier to entry but also helps learners digest difficult theory points and strengthen memory retention through hands-on experimentation, truly achieving both knowing what and knowing why, and making the leap from “I understand” to “I can use.”
Engineer Li — Changchun Jiacheng Information Technology Co., Ltd., Implementation Engineer
