[GBASE Training] The first 2023 GBase 8s Certification Training is now open for registration!
At the start of 2023, driven by the commitment to empower enterprises and foster more domestic database talent, the GBASE Training Center will hold the first 2023 "GBase 8s Database Certification Training" on February 6th. This three-week program is designed to help you quickly master GBase 8s, the domestic transactional database, and, as always, is completely free of charge. Domestic database enthusiasts are encouraged to register!
Product Introduction
GBase 8s is a mature and stable shared-storage database cluster independently developed by General Data Technology Co., Ltd. (GBASE). In this cluster, multiple database instances share a single copy of disk data, and all nodes support both read and write operations. The product meets Level 4 security database standards (equivalent to international B2 level) and supports Chinese national cryptographic algorithms. It supports international database standards and interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python, and holds independent intellectual property rights. It supports distributed, centralized, shared-storage high-availability, and multi-site high-availability deployments (including two-site-three-center architecture). With high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance, it provides a cost-effective, general-purpose computing platform for ultra-large-scale data management.
GBase 8s is ideal for OLTP application scenarios, including core mission-critical systems in finance and telecommunications, as well as information systems requiring high security in sectors such as security, government, and national defense. It delivers 24/7 non-stop processing capabilities.
Course Introduction
This course starts from the fundamentals of GBase 8s, covering its principles, installation and deployment, management and maintenance, and basic SQL development. Through this training, participants will be able to quickly deploy the GBase 8s transactional database in a Linux environment and master essential DBA operations including installation, administration, data import/export, and backup.

What Past Participants Say About the Training
System Project Manager, China Mobile Shandong: The GBase 8s training is truly a feast of knowledge. The curriculum is rich, reasonable, and compact. The learning environment in the training camp was harmonious and active. The videos and blog materials were practical and easy to understand. New video lessons were unlocked daily with appropriate durations, and convenient directory links were provided in the WeChat group. We could study in our spare time, and the instructors explained everything clearly and thoroughly—from basic principles to hands-on practice. Moreover, the GBASE instructors and fellow learners in the group were enthusiastic and proactive, promptly answering every question. The accompanying hands-on exercise documents were close to real-world practice. Completing the whole series was definitely a great introductory experience.
IT Product Manager, China Mobile Jiangsu: The instructor's lectures were like a sumptuous feast, exquisitely presented. Truly, ‘A word from you is worth more than ten years of study.’ The instructor shared their experience unreservedly, making complex concepts easy to understand—simply brilliant.
Development Engineer, Software Center of a Bank: This course lasted 14 days. As complete beginners, we learned the principles, installation and deployment, management and maintenance, and basic SQL development of the GBase 8s database through online courses. With this training, we are now able to perform basic GBase 8s operations such as installation, management, data import/export, and backup. The teacher also provided hands-on demonstrations with very detailed explanations. I feel the course was very practical and valuable. Meanwhile, HTML courseware was provided, allowing us to reference it while learning and review anytime after class. Overall, I benefited greatly from this course and hope to continue learning more about GBase.
Data Architect, Jiangsu Shuiyou (Tax Service Company): This training was organized as an online boot camp, which was very convenient. Not only was it free, but a cloud environment was also provided for us to practice. Most amazing was the instructors’ detailed explanations of every knowledge point—they really got to the heart of each topic. They also answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. Many thanks to the instructors and to all the fellow learners who shared their insights during the learning process.
Teacher, School of Information, a Vocational College: I come from a school, and I had only been exposed to foreign databases—something always felt missing. Through this training, I discovered that domestic databases are no less capable and are better suited to the habits of Chinese users. They are worth promoting. We could offer a domestic database course in our school to nurture and influence a group of students, gradually promoting the use of domestic databases and driving wider adoption.
Architect, an Archival Technology Company in Hubei: This free GBase training opportunity gave me a completely new understanding of GBASE’s products. The training covered a lot of content. I spent a few days studying intensively, and the video content proved very useful—I was able to apply most of it in my testing. The database’s SQL compatibility is excellent; apart from some specific syntax, it is largely compatible with common database products. I also migrated previous projects to the GBase database, which was very straightforward. I especially want to note that the training is free. Similar training from other vendors can cost thousands of yuan. I think this shows GBASE’s commitment to building its own ecosystem rather than just focusing on revenue. I believe products from such a conscientious company will also be excellent.
