Amid the blooming spring of May, GBase is hosting the third session of the "GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database Certification Training" this year. As always, it is a completely free certification training, starting on May 15. Enthusiasts of Chinese databases are welcome to sign up!

Product Introduction

GBase 8a MPP Cluster database (referred to as 8a Cluster) is a large-scale distributed parallel processing database cluster independently developed by GBase and industry-leading in China. It has been widely deployed in finance, telecommunications, government, national defense, and enterprise sectors. The 8a Cluster has become a powerful foundation for data warehousing and decision support systems. Nearly 90% of GBase users report that the product delivers superior performance and comprehensive functionality. Its strong market feedback is driving growing demand for in-depth learning.

Course Introduction

This course starts from scratch with the 8a Cluster product, covering the principles and fundamental usage of the 8a Cluster database. The entire course is divided into two phases: learning and examination. It includes 14 days of learning, two unit quizzes, and two attempts at the certification exam. The course is organized through an online learning platform for training and examinations. With a well-structured schedule, you can progressively and easily master the fundamentals of Chinese databases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Help learners understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of the 8a Cluster, and establish the foundational concepts of MPP architecture in databases.
  • Equip learners with the skills to install, manage, and maintain the 8a Cluster database, and troubleshoot common cluster status anomalies.
  • Enable learners to perform data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including adding, deleting, modifying, and querying data, managing and assigning user permissions, and viewing system tables.

Testimonials from Past Participants

A banking technology department manager: This training was remote and very convenient. Not only was it free, but it also provided cloud servers for practice. Most importantly, the video explanations were very detailed, and the instructor answered questions in the group patiently and promptly. We came with specific questions and learned in a targeted way, which was very effective. For example, the lesson on the client helped us correct some previously inaccurate practices.

Auditor at Jiangxi Bank headquarters: The training model is innovative, focusing on the learner experience. Unlike one-way lectures, it emphasizes interaction and communication. After the training, course notes are compiled and shared with participants. Post-lesson exercises and periodic tests play a crucial role in reinforcing learning and validating outcomes. The instructor's detailed explanations and Q&A provided a great start for learners of all backgrounds to quickly grasp, deepen their understanding, get hands-on experience, and prepare for future use of the product.

Big Data Project Manager at Hand Enterprise Solutions: This training spanned over ten days, requiring just 1–2 hours per day. It covered everything from GBase's history and features to deployment, installation, routine usage, and monitoring—very comprehensive. You had to pass unit quizzes before taking the final certification, and with high scores and active participation, you could even get exam and certificate fees waived. I must say the arrangement was spot-on, with both carrots and sticks. Haha, I love this approach—it motivates interest, encourages broad participation, and prevents the course from being just a formality. I highly recommend those who haven't joined yet to jump into the next session.

Technical Expert at the IT Department of Bank of Chongqing: To address the performance bottleneck of centralized databases in data analysis systems, Bank of Chongqing benchmarked several products on high availability, stability, cluster features, and cluster performance, and ultimately chose GBase 8a MPP Cluster to build its next-generation data warehouse. Through this training, I gained a deeper understanding of the infrastructure, core technologies, applicable scenarios, and SQL usage of GBase 8a MPP Cluster, along with hands-on practice, which will serve as a technical foundation for future work.

IT Product Manager at Jiangsu Mobile: The instructor's lectures were like a sumptuous feast, exquisitely presented in the training classroom. Truly, "A conversation with you is worth ten years of reading." The instructor shared experiences without reservation, explaining profound concepts in simple terms—truly brilliant.

Architect at an archival technology company in Hubei: The free GBase training gave me a whole new understanding of GBase products. The course had a lot of content; I spent a few days studying intensively, and the videos were very useful. I tested most of the content, and the database's SQL compatibility is excellent—aside from some specific syntax, it's largely compatible with common database products. I was able to migrate previous projects to the GBase database with ease. I must mention that the training is free, while similar training from other vendors can cost thousands. That's truly commendable, and it shows that GBase is building a genuine ecosystem rather than just chasing profits. I believe a company with such integrity will also produce great products.
