[GBase Event] Thousand Talents Program: Exclusive GBase Database Training for University Students Now Open!
GBase (General Data Technology) is an independent database vendor in China focused on database product R&D, with large-scale deployments in the financial and telecom sectors. As one of the first 22 entities accredited by the Talent Center of the Xinchuang (IT Application Innovation) Working Committee, and a designated university internship base in Tianjin, GBase is building on its 2021 student training experience to launch the “Thousand Talents Program – GBase Database Student Training” this summer. This is a fully free GBase 8s GDCA certification program tailored specifically for university students. The course starts on June 20 – all students and faculty are welcome to register!
Product Overview
GBase 8s is a mature, stable shared-storage database cluster independently developed by GBase, with full independent intellectual property rights. It meets the security database Level 4 standard (equivalent to international B2), supports national cryptographic algorithms, and supports SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), Python, and other international database standards and development interfaces. It supports centralized deployment, shared-storage high-availability deployment, and two-site three-center high-availability deployment, delivering high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance.
GBase 8s is designed for OLTP scenarios, including mission-critical core business systems in finance, telecom, government, and security. Against the backdrop of growing security demands, GBase 8s has become a mainstream domestic database for replacing traditional IOE (IBM, Oracle, EMC) architectures, capable of replacing Oracle in over 90% of scenarios.
Course Introduction
This course is for students interested in domestic databases and considering careers in database delivery, operations, or pre-sales support. Through this course, you will gain an understanding of domestic databases and master the principles of GBase 8s along with basic operations and development.
Starting from zero, the course covers GBase 8s principles, installation and deployment, management and operations, and basic SQL development. Upon completion, learners will be able to rapidly deploy a GBase 8s shared-storage database cluster in a Linux environment and master basic operations such as installation and deployment, management and maintenance, data import/export, and backup.
Training Schedule
The program is divided into two phases: learning and exams. It includes 14 days of study (with one mock exam) and two certification exam attempts. All training and exams are conducted through an online learning platform, supported by instructor Q&A in the WeChat group and two live Q&A sessions. With a structured, step-by-step approach, you will easily master the fundamentals of domestic databases.
Learning Period: June 20 – July 3, one new lesson unlocked each day
Exam Date: July 7, 19:00-21:00 (60-minute exam duration)
Make-up Exam Date: July 9, 19:00-21:00 (60-minute duration)
Assessment:
- A score of 60 or above earns a passing grade and credit for the training;
- A score of 80 or above earns the GBase 8s GDCA certification (electronic certificate);
- Students scoring below 60 may apply for one make-up exam.

This course is suitable for those with basic Linux and database knowledge. We recommend a computer with at least 8 GB of memory for hands-on practice.

Internship Opportunities
Technical Support Engineer (Delivery & Operations)
Responsibilities: Validate database functionality internally and at customer sites, and handle deployment, data migration, application integration, and other delivery tasks.
Requirements: Proficient in basic database operations, understanding of database and SQL optimization, and familiarity with common Linux commands.

Responsibilities: Conduct preliminary technical discussions, clarify customer requirements, design detailed product solutions, and contribute to industry solution planning and bidding documents.
