1. About General Data Technology and the GBase Database
General Data Technology is a leading independent database vendor in China, specializing in database product R&D, with deployments at scale across financial and telecom sectors.
GBase 8a MPP Cluster (hereinafter referred to as "8a Cluster") is a self-developed, industry-leading, massively distributed parallel database cluster system. It meets the growing demands of data-intensive industries for data analysis, data mining, data backup, and ad-hoc querying. With large-scale deployments at hundreds of organizations — including the People's Bank of China, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Mobile, and the General Administration of Customs — it currently operates across more than 25,000 nodes and manages over 200 PB of data.
2. What Does the GDCA Certification Training Cover?
This course starts from the fundamentals of the 8a Cluster product and covers its core principles and basic usage.
The entire program spans about one month and is divided into two phases: learning and examination. It includes 10 lessons, 2 unit quizzes, and 2 certification exam attempts. Throughout the training, dedicated instructors are available in a WeChat group to answer questions promptly. The training and exams are organized in an online bootcamp format, allowing participants to gradually and easily master the fundamentals of China's homegrown databases through a well-structured schedule.
3. What Is the Schedule for the July Summer Bootcamp?
July 15 – August 4
Self-paced video learning + hands-on practice + assignments + unit quizzes; we recommend studying 2 hours per day.
August 5 – 7
Certification exam. You may choose any one-hour slot during these three days to take the online exam; two attempts are allowed, with a 30-minute interval between them.

1. Course format: Self-paced online video courses + instructor Q&A in the group + in-class exercises/practice exercises + stage quizzes + certification exam.
2. From July 15 to August 4, 2021, course videos can be replayed as often as you like but are not downloadable.
5. How to Practice and Assess Your Learning?
1. "Exercises" can only be completed on mobile devices and may be repeated; answer explanations are provided. These are not supported on PC.
2. There are two types of exercises:
(1) Practice questions that randomly pop up during video playback when key concepts are being explained;
(2) An exercise linked within the "Classroom Interaction" section of a video course.
6. How to Download the 8a Cluster Installation Package and Practice?
A series of documents is provided to guide participants in downloading the 8a Cluster installation package, preparing the environment, and completing hands-on practice exercises.

7. What If I Encounter Issues While Learning?

8. Can I Take This Course Later If I Don't Have Time Now?
The 8a Cluster certification course is available for study at any time during its open period; however, exams are held on fixed dates. If you miss the exam, you will need to join a future training cohort. Please stay tuned to the WeChat group or the "GBase Training Center" official account for updates.
9. How Does the Certification Exam Work? Is It Free?
1. Exam period: August 5–7. You may choose any one-hour slot to take the exam. Two attempts are allowed, with a 30-minute interval between them.
2. All participants enrolled in the university summer bootcamp will receive a free 50 RMB exam voucher, which means the exam is free of charge.
10. How Soon Will I Receive My Certificate After Passing the Exam?
1. A digital certificate will be sent to your email within 10 business days.
2. A physical certificate will be mailed out within about 20 business days, and a scanned copy will also be sent to your email.
