Product Introduction
GBase 8s is a database product with fully independent intellectual property rights from GBASE. It is a B2-level (International Level 4) security database that supports national cryptographic algorithms. It supports mainstream development interfaces such as SQL99/2003, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI (OCI/OCCI), and Python. Its SQL syntax is broadly compatible with Oracle, maximizing the reuse of developers' database experience. The product features a complete Chinese ecosystem with deep adaptation to Chinese operating systems, middleware, and CPU chips. It supports shared storage clusters and two-site-three-center high-availability deployments.
GBase 8s is suitable for OLTP scenarios, including mission-critical core business systems in finance and telecom, as well as information systems with high security requirements in sectors such as public security, party and government, and national defense. It delivers 7x24 uninterrupted processing capabilities.
Course Introduction
This course starts from scratch, covering GBase 8s database principles, installation and deployment, management and maintenance, and basic SQL syntax. Learning objectives: Deploy a standalone GBase 8s quickly on Linux; master fundamental operations such as database administration, data import/export, backup and recovery; and gain an understanding of stored procedure coding.

What Previous Trainees Say
Project Manager at Shandong Mobile: The GBase 8s training was a feast of knowledge. The curriculum was rich, well-structured, and intensive; the training camp had a harmonious and active learning atmosphere; and the video and blog materials were practical and easy to understand. New video lessons were unlocked daily, with appropriate duration, and convenient directory links were provided in the WeChat group. I could make use of fragmented time to study. The instructor explained everything clearly and thoroughly, from fundamental principles to hands-on operations. Moreover, in the training camp WeChat group, the instructors from General Data Technology and fellow participants were enthusiastic and proactive, promptly answering every question. The accompanying hands-on exercise documentation for 8s was closely tied to real-world use; working through it from start to finish is absolutely the best material for getting started.
IT Product Manager at Jiangsu Mobile: The instructor's lectures were like a sumptuous feast, beautifully presented in the classroom. It truly was a case of ‘hearing your words is better than ten years of reading.’ The instructor unreservedly shared his own experience with us, explaining profound concepts in simple terms—truly brilliant and diverse.
Development Engineer at a bank software center: The course lasted 13 days. As a beginner, I learned the principles, installation, deployment, administration, and basic SQL development of GBase 8s through online sessions. These courses enabled me to master fundamental GBase 8s operations such as installation, management, data import/export, and backup. The instructor also performed live demonstrations with very detailed explanations. I found the course extremely practical and valuable. In addition, the instructor provided courseware in HTML format so we could review alongside the lessons and revisit them anytime after class. I gained a great deal from the whole experience and hope to continue learning more about GBase.
Data Architect at Jiangsu Shuiyou: The training was organized as an online bootcamp, which was very convenient. Not only was the training free, but it also provided a cloud environment for hands-on practice. The most pleasant surprise was the instructors' meticulous explanation of each point, getting right to the heart of the matter. They also answered our questions in the group patiently and promptly. Thank you to the instructors and to fellow learners who shared their questions during the process.
Teacher at a vocational college's IT school: I come from an academic background, and most of the databases I use are foreign. I always felt something was missing. Through this training, I found that Chinese databases are not inferior; in fact, they better suit our usage habits and are worth promoting. We could offer a course on Chinese domestic databases at school to cultivate and influence a group of students, gradually advancing the adoption of these databases and making them more widespread.
Architect at an archival technology company in Hubei: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a whole new understanding of General Data Technology's products. There was a lot of content; I spent a few days studying intensively. The videos were very useful—I tested most of the content and it worked. The SQL compatibility is also good; apart from some specific syntax, it is largely compatible with common database products. I tried migrating a previous project to GBase and it felt quite straightforward. It is worth noting that the training was free, whereas similar training from other vendors often costs several thousand yuan. I see this as a sign of good faith, showing that General Data Technology is focused on building an ecosystem rather than just chasing money. I believe a company with such integrity will produce great products.
